The exhibition this time was in terms of area and the number
of exhibitor participants and is quite well organized. The quality
and quantity of customers in the last 2-3 days have been really
good. Also the exhibition space is much better than the Bandung
fairgrounds. We had visitors from Solo, Surabaya, and nearly 70-
75% of the entire spinning industry of Indonesia has come. Hav-
ing a presence in the Indonesian market for the part 12 years, we
are the most dominant player here with a market share of nearly
47% for ring travellers. This exhibition is more of a PR exercise
for us, since we are already supplying to most of them. Our Indo-
nesian agent, PT Texmach IMPEX, has vast knowledge about the
Indonesian market and has offices in Jakarta, Bandung and Solo.”
– Mr. J.M. Balaji
Head - Marketing, Lakshmi Ring Travellers (CBE) Ltd.
“The response is good. The positive thing is that the country
is planning to grow with 70% more spindleage. And when
more spindles are sold, more parts are required at various
processes. And in the Indonesian market, all the people have
a good rapport for Indian products. Most of the Indian-owned
mills in Indonesia prefer Indian products due to better quality
when compared to Chinese products. Some new customers
have requested us to send bobbins for testing, and with the
existing customers; there are already a lot of orders. Naval has
its presence in the Indonesian market since 1990 and currently
has good market share in the business.”
– Mr. Naval Tibrewala
Chairman, Naval
The response was good both in terms of quality and quan-
tity, so no complains. Suessen has a strong presence in the In-
donesian market for the past 5-6 years. The facilities are much
better in Jakarta and were organized very professionally. I’m
positive that the global textile scenario will change due to the
very fact that population is growing. So textiles as an industry
will grow. But the question is which country it will grow. If
not for China, India and Indonesia, there is no place for this
huge industry. But I’m very much convinced that there would
be stability in this business within the next 6 months.”
– Mr. Peter Stahlecker
Managing Director, Suessen
