Its collaboration with Ocean Safe AG, Switzerland will help develop proprietary synthetic textile fibres and yarns which are circular, biodegradable, toxin-free and Cradle to Cradle Certified® Gold

Yunus Textile Mills Limited, a global leader in home textiles, has signed a partnering agreement with Ocean Safe AG, Switzerland. The collaboration focuses on the development and manufacturing of circular, toxin-free and biodegradable home textile products ranging from sheets, comforters, quilts, duvets, curtains, and more. All finished products will be Cradle to Cradle Certified® Gold or higher. The company has worked hard for incorporating sustainable practices and solutions towards the betterment of the environment, reduction of micro plastics and water stewardship. This collaboration will help Yunus Textile Mills in making products that are safe for the biological cycle without compromising on quality, performance and comfort.

Ocean Safe AG is a Swiss textile technology company which helps brands and retailers develop fully circular products. Part of their concept is establishing fully certified and transparent value chains from fibre to finished products. It has developed proprietary synthetic textile fibres and yarns, which are circular, biodegradable, toxin-free and Cradle to Cradle Certified Gold. “This alliance will add one more feather in the cap of Yunus Textile Mills as this agreement will provide the path towards the company becoming the first Ocean Safe-compliant facility in Pakistan,” commented Nisar Palla, COO, Yunus Textile Mills.

“It reaffirms our commitment to be the leader in sustainability efforts in our industry,” he added. “Ocean Safe is thrilled that Yunus Textile Mills is becoming part of the network of Ocean Safe-compliant manufacturers. It undermines their commitment to the circular economy,” said Manuel Schweizer, CEO and Founder, Ocean Safe AG. Matthias Fuchs, Ocean Safe’s CMO, added, “Ocean Safe and Yunus Textile Mills share a mutual objective to massively reduce the textile industry’s impact on the environment through the use of Ocean Safe technology.” Both the companies will join their marketing forces to bring mutually developed circular home textiles to the American, European and other international markets starting 2022.
