Wild Lotus Fashions, a part of MGM Group, has established an apparel manufacturing unit with an investment of Rs. 20 crore at Chhatabar in Khurda district, Odisha. Chief Minister of Odisha, Mr. Naveen Patnaik virtually inaugurated the apparel manufacturing facility on 23rd July 2021.
Wastra has played a key role in planning and implementing the project, right from the inception & ideas on how to start apparel manufacturing factory. This factory is the latest addition to Wastra’s squadron of engineered factories. Wastra engineered garment factories are competitive, compliant and credible set-ups, established on 4 pillars, that can be relied upon every single time for quality, price and delivery commitments. Wastra also ensured while setting up this engineered factory it meets with all the global standards in efficiency and productivity. The current project is being implemented in two phases and the unit is estimated to generate employment opportunity for over 2000 workers at its planned maximum capacity.
The unit will have an installed capacity of 950 sewing machines. The facility is a fully compliant export unit and is spread over three acres of land. The company will provide pre-employment and post-employment free training facilities to upgrade the skills of its employees. It plans to initially supply apparels for domestic giants like Reliance Trends, Shoppers Stop, etc. Going forward the company plans to start exporting to international brands and buyers. Wild Lotus Fashions is the third major garmenting project in Odisha after Shahi Exports and Aditya Birla.
