Welker extremely optimistic about Indian growth prospects

Welker was founded in 1856 with the sole intension of contributing to the growth of the textile industry. In 1941, the first generation of vacuum steaming equipment was developed and successfully introduced to the market. Today nearly 2,000 Welker systems are installed worldwide and are applied in all areas of heat-setting, conditioning and drying.

Welker recently launched the Condibox Triplex machine, the widest conditioning machine ever built, with an overall open width of 4.000 mm suitable for four Euro pallets or three American type pallets or four pin trucks. This machine does not need a loading platform and therefore saves a lot of space. It also enhances efficiency as it does not waste time for the platform coming in and out. The company had recently installed a similar DUPLEX machine in India.

Welker has a long history of introducing the technology in India, way back in 1999. Since then no further development has been made in the country till the company recently started with its partner AB Reiniger in Coimbatore. AB Reiniger today produces Welker’s VAPOMAT 120 with updated modern machine design. This is the most advanced conditioner available in the Indian market and all technical developments are available at the customer’s request, such as waterless pumps, energy saving technology and quality improvement with Welker’s new Anti-Condensation System (ACS).

The company was able to sell two complete automated plants with turbocooling and packaging to a country in the neighbourhood of India demonstrating that the time of excess workforce utilisation has gone. The future in conditioning is also automation to avoid mistakes and bad handling of cones and bobbins. Welker is the only European supplier where one can buy a complete automation and conditioning project.

In India, a further consolidation and expansion of business is expected on the success of its partner AB Reiniger which is the sole company to provide original German know-how in conditioning technology.
