The objective is to familiarize global buyers with Taiwanese textile machinery and will be represented by four Taiwanese companies: Logic Art Automation, Pailung Machinery Mill, Acme Machinery Industry and Hsing Cheng Machinery
Integrated digital solutions for textile needs, smart manufacturing systems and green manufacturing – these are some of the most contemporary topics and themes in the global textile industry. And bringing them to the fore on a platform of discussion will be the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) which will present a webinar to focus on these issues as well as showcase the achievements of Taiwan’s textile machinery manufacturers. The webinar will be held on April 29 (Indian Standard Time) and is titled ‘Taiwan Excellence Textile Manufacturing Solution Webinar’.
Ms. Eshani Ghosh, Trade Promotion Specialist, Taipei World Trade Centre, Kolkata, says: “The objective is to familiarize global buyers with Taiwanese textile machinery and will be represented by four Taiwanese companies: Logic Art Automation, Pailung Machinery Mill, Acme Machinery Industry and Hsing Cheng Machinery. The webinar will also bring together potential buyers in countries such as India. The proceedings will be broadcast live and will help participants understand how Taiwan’s textile machinery can provide them with complete solutions and highlight the competitive advantages of the Taiwan’s textile machinery that use cloud platforms”.
Taiwan is one of the leading textile locations in the world. The focus of the Taiwanese textile industry is now on the forward-looking topic of sustainability and Taiwan’s textile machinery is working on bringing green ideas into machine design. The aim is to establish itself worldwide as a pivotal sourcing hub for innovative, sustainable and intelligent textiles. The country is already a leader in recycled polymers and polymer blends and is actively engaged in the search for new sustainable textile solutions that combine high-tech, ecology, functionality and life aesthetics.
Successful examples include the production of recycled polyester and nylon from marine waste and water-free dyeing. Many manufacturers also produce according to the requirements of numerous textile sustainability standards such as Bluesign, GRS, ZDHC, Standard 100 by Oeko-Tex and Restricted Substance List (RSL). As for offering smart solutions for textile manufacturing, Taiwan’s companies are moving forward with the Industry 4.0 trend to accelerate digital transformation. This helps Taiwan’s textile machinery enterprises provide smart solutions to satisfy the customers.
“Discussions and debate about upstream materials, digital equipment, production lines and clients as well as the effective use of IOT, big data, cloud computing and AI smart management permeate the industry. Offering remote customer services using digital technologies and bespoke customisation of designs in addition to differentiating products from competitors for clients’ individual needs within limited timeframes are the top priorities. The companies chosen to participate in the webinar have been leading players in the textile industry of Taiwan. Logic Art Automation, the only integrated enterprise, provides dye house total solution for the textile dyeing industry”, adds Ms. Eshani Ghosh.
It undertakes and integrates the process of a dyeing house such as dyestuff storage, lab for colour management, and central control for stenter and dyeing machines. The solution includes automatic powder dyestuff weighing system, automatic chemical (auxiliary) distribution system, automatic dyestuff dissolving and distribution system with RFID, lab dispenser system and supervisor centre. Logic Art Automation puts tons of efforts in upgrading its complete solutions and supporting the textile dyeing industry to achieve smart and integrated production. Further, when it comes to knitting, Pailung Machinery Mill has been focusing on smart knitting projects for several years.
It has launched a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and Pailung Online Monitoring System (POMS) to respond to the varying market and complicated data management. The company’s smart knitting machine provides various services including optimising the time of machine adjustment and accuracy, upgrading the management efficacy of stocks and machine maintenance, speeding up the response from manufacturing to the market, enhancing product repeatability from production, efficacious management in knitting data base, effective remote management and communication in the post-pandemic era. The third company, Acme Machinery Industry, offers new generation, eco-friendly intelligent conveyer drive dyeing machine.
This is equipped with a conveyor to drive the fabrics instead of liquor floating and is able to save more than 65% of water, steam, electricity and auxiliaries and reduce 65% of wastewater and CO2 emission. The machine has obtained worldwide more than 20 invention patents with a total of over 200 PCS patent certificates. Hsing Cheng Machinery has also been at the forefront for having introduced a continuous washing machine that provides multiple applications that can save 379 tons of water, 335.7 kilowatt of electricity and 33.1 tons of steam as compared to the conventional dye system. This substantially reduces manufacturing costs in response to the wave of sustainable development.
Ms. Eshani Ghosh says: “The webinar is most suited for international buyers since the event will help the audience to understand more about Taiwanese textile machinery and the new focus on Taiwan’s textile industry. Founded in 1970 to help promote foreign trade, the Taiwan External Trade Development Council is the foremost non-profit, semi-governmental trade promotion organisation in Taiwan. Jointly sponsored by the government, industry associations and several commercial organisations, it assists Taiwanese businesses and manufacturers to reinforce international competitiveness and addresses the challenges they face in foreign markets”.
