The Stäubli Textile Division has been providing reliable solutions to weaving mills around the world for over 125 years and to the Indian market for nearly seven decades
Efficiently weaving fabrics of any kind – including home textiles such as terry towels, bed linen, or outdoor carpets – requires high-performance machinery that provides maximum precision, reliability and availability. From Switzerland to weaving mills around the world, the Stäubli Group offers a wide range of high-performance frame and Jacquard weaving solutions as well as leading-edge automation systems for weaving preparation. Stäubli offers a complete program of state-of-the art technology and local services for Indian mills intent on remaining one step ahead.
The Stäubli Textile Division has been providing reliable solutions to weaving mills around the world for over 125 years and to the Indian market for nearly seven decades. During that time, the requirements of mills in terms of flexibility and operational processes have grown significantly. Weaving speed has become paramount, meaning the associated processes must also keep pace. Many time-consuming tasks in weaving preparation have been optimised not only in terms of speed but also quality. Stäubli enables mills to quicken the pace with its leading-edge automation solutions for leasing, drawing in, and tying – which together ensure rapid preparation of high-quality warps.
For instance, the SAFIR S40 automatic drawing-in machine enables the repeat-specific distribution of the warp yarns into drop wires, healds and reed in a single cycle. It features state-of-the-art Active Warp Control (AWC) technology, and Initial Conditions Settings (ICS) for efficiently handling specific yarn properties, e.g. for fancy yarns, are now available as well. These technologies allow mills to further increase their quality and processing performance of multicoloured or fancy warps with or without a lease. All Stäubli weaving preparation solutions share a key critical attribute – they support the production of perfect warps that enhance the downstream weaving process, which leads to greater volumes of first-quality output.
“Our customers are looking for solutions that are adapted to their needs to stay at the forefront of their market. We provide quality high-speed machinery made of first-class materials combined with ingenious research and development as a result of our long-lasting experience and partnering with our customers,” says Fritz Legler, Global Head of Marketing and Sales at Stäubli. For example, Stäubli offers the renowned ultra-reliable high-speed S3000 and S3200 series of electronic rotary dobbies along with maintenance-free harness motions. Integrating such an optimised combination into the weaving machine is a key to precise shed formation when the highest operating speeds and precision are required.
By investing in Stäubli machinery, the weaving mill can expect to benefit from an optimised production process, and the flexibility these solutions offer makes them adaptable to the mill’s future projects as well. “Our global and local Indian service teams and our spare parts network also support our customers with personalised services. They can achieve their goals more easily and master challenging situations,” Legler states. The latest facts and figures of the Stäubli Group show 5,500 employees worldwide and a turnover of around 1.3 billion Swiss francs. These positive figures confirm Stäubli’s forward-looking strategy as well as the know-how and research and development capabilities of the group’s three activities: connectors, robotics and textile.
