VXLRT has carved a niche for itself as one of the leading manufacturer of ring travellers. The Coimbatore-based company is geared up for ITMA 2023 to be held in Milan, Italy
In an exclusive interaction, R Govindaraju and N Damodharan, managing directors of the company, gave insights into VXLRT’s participation in ITMA 2023. “ITMA, held once in four years, has always been an important platform for us to display our products to the international market. It is a place where we can meet international associates. The event offers a wonderful opportunity for interaction and exchange of ideas. This is the third time that we are participating in ITMA,” said Govindaraju. “We have completed the stall design. Our team is all set to move to Milan. The moment we land there, we will be ready,” added Damodharan.
New Launches
Speaking about the products that will be displayed at the company’s booth, Damodharan stated “We will be launching the ‘ASTRA’ ring traveller for the global market at the event. This traveller is specifically designed for the purpose of synthetic yarns, i.e., manmade fibre (MMF) yarns. It gives excellent results. We are sure it will meet the requirements of our customers both in the domestic and global markets.” Adding to this, Govindaraju said, “Apart from ASTRA, we will also be showcasing our ‘PLUS’ series of ring travellers at ITMA. This product has found great acceptance in the market.”
The company wants to utilise the ITMA 2023 platform to expand its global presence. “Right now exports constitute about 60% of our revenues while the domestic market contributes the rest 40%. Our key export markets are mostly Asian countries such as China, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Thailand. Recently we are also getting enquiries from Uzbekistan. We are planning to expand into Vietnam and Indonesia. We have already got orders from Indonesia but we want to expand in an aggressive way,” Damodharan elaborated.
Automation Initiatives
Speaking about their initiatives on the automation and digitisation front, Govindaraju said, “We have been coming out with many initiatives in our other group company – VXL Systems – where we have introduced Industry 4.0 as well as Internet of Things (IoT). These features have further added to the popularity of our waste collection systems for the textile industry. We have also introduced a new type of automatic cleaning system with suction arrangement. This arrangement enables superior cleaning whereby the total cleaning cycle has also increased significantly.”
“We also provide automation in the true sense when it comes to automatic baling. Our automatic baling is not a simple system. It is centralised baling where 2-3 mills in the same compound can have a centralised automatic baling area. All the material can be transported to the location, thus enabling baling to happen in a single location. With IoT we are now able to monitor our customers’ systems sitting in our office. Our equipment is very critical because when filtration stops all the other machines need to be stopped. We are providing these features to reduce downtime,” he explained.
Key Strengths
Highlighting the key reasons that give the company its competitive edge, Damodharan said, “The first reason is that we have updated our product extremely well. The quality of our product and consistency are always improving. Secondly, our other major strength is our sales and technical team. They are experienced in the field. They work continuously with the customer, understand their requirements and select the appropriate travellers for their applications.” The company is now looking forward to interacting with visitors from around the world at Hall No. 2, Booth No. B106 at ITMA 2023. “Our team is ready to welcome visitors and answer all queries regarding our products and technologies,” Govindaraju said on a parting note.
