Vipul Organics Limited, the leading specialty chemicals company in the pigments and dyes segment, has received the OEKO-TEX ECO PASSPORT for its entire pigment and Reactive Dyes product range for the textile industry, under the brand names of SunPrint® and SunActive® respectively. This means that the entire product range of Vipul Organics for the Textile Industry is now certified as ZDHC (Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals) Level 3.
In 2022, Vipul Organics first received the OEKO-TEX certification for its pigments range with Level 1 qualifications. Now, in 2023, with ZDHC Level 3, it becomes amongst the first few global companies to have been awarded this certificate. The Level 3 certification is the most stringent test and involves onsite assessment of chemical hazard capability as well as the adherence to Level 1 and Level 2 requirements of analytical testing, supported screening and SDS (Safety Data Sheet) review of relevant MRSL (Manufacturing of Restrictive Substance List) product information. Vipul Organics becomes one of the only companies whose entire range of over 170+ products are certified for level 3 Pigment Dispersions for textile printing under SunPrint® brand, making it the one of the largest in the category of Pigments. Over 100+ products for Reactive Dyes under the brand name of SunActive® are also certified Level 3.
“We are continuously improving our product line and manufacturing processes to focus on being more ecologically sustainable. We are happy that the OEKO-TEX ECO PASSPORT certification now marks our complete SunPrint® and SunActive® range for the textile industry to be most eco-friendly in the category’, says Mr. Mihir V Shah, Executive Director, Vipul Organics Limited. “The certification will assist us in becoming the dyes and pigments partner of choice of the most sustainable textile and garments manufacturers in the world”, he adds.
The OEKO-TEX ECO Passport ZDHC Level 3 is the definitive certification system for chemicals, colorants and auxiliaries used in textile and leather industry. During a multistep process, OEKO-TEX analyses whether each individual ingredient in the chemical product meets the statutory requirements and that it is not harmful to human health. Both brands and manufacturers value the ECO PASSPORT as credible proof of sustainable textile and leather production. The label also gives transparent proof of which articles meet the criteria for ecologically responsible textile and leather manufacture. Once per year, OEKO-TEX updates the banned substances and limit values and expands them to include new scientific findings or statutory requirements.
