The VDMA is a network of around 3,200 mechanical engineering industry companies in Germany making it one of the largest and most important industrial associations in Europe with a staff of over 500 industry experts and subsidiaries in India and other countries. Mechanical engineering is Germany’s biggest industrial employer with more than 1 million workers. It develops and produces key technologies for the global market. VDMA was founded in 1892 and since then successful engineering companies have been working with it to create a powerful force to represent their interests both at national and international level.
About 130 of the most important manufacturers of textile machinery and accessories from all sectors of the trade are affiliated within the VDMA Textile Machinery Association. The association is very active in exhibitions such as ITMA Europe and symposia. Most of the 130 member companies have longstanding relations with customers from India.
Currently, VDMA is in the process of analysing the Indian market and would need its support. A short survey would give it a perspective of the companies presence in India and also its approach towards technology the way forward. This information is only collected as part of VDMA’s survey and would not be used for any commercial purposes. The result of the survey would be shared with the companies once the survey is completed with the response. The last date for submission of the survey is 2nd December 2016.
