Vardhman Group sales, export revenues up

 

Vardhman Textiles has registered revenue from operations of Rs. 3,918 crores in 2011-12 as compared to Rs. 3,606.81 crores in the previous year, showing an increase of 8.63 per cent. Exports moved up from Rs. 1,218.26 crores to Rs. 1,603.08 crores, representing an increase of 31.59 per cent owing to enhanced production and better product/market penetration.

Production of yarn increased from 130,858 MT to 138,046 MT during the year and yarn sales revenue from Rs. 2,036.27 crores to Rs. 2,421.77 crores. Production of fabric (grey and processed) was 187.12 million metres (189.52 million metres). Sales revenue from fabric (grey and processed) moved up from Rs. 1,071.27 crores to Rs. 1,199.81 crores, showing an increase of 11.25 per cent.

Expansion of the second line of fabric processing at the Budhni plant was complete, and ramp-up of capacity will continue for every subsequent month. It is expected that during the fourth quarter, the company will get the full benefit of expansion. Meanwhile, partial commissioning of the weaving project of 200 looms has also been effected.
