URAS Chemical has firmly established itself as a leader in the manufacturing of textile printing inks, known for its unwavering commitment to quality production and reliability. The Turkey-based company offers a comprehensive range of products, including screen printing inks, digital sublimation inks, pigment textile printing inks, digital reactive inks, and rotary printing inks.
In an exclusive interview with The Textile Magazine at the recent Knit-Show 2024 trade show in Tirupur, Sevgi Kaya, Export Manager – Screen Printing, stated, “We are part of the URAS Group, which was established in 1997. Over the years, the group has experienced steady growth, and two years ago, we expanded into manufacturing screen printing machines.”
The company operates eight branches globally, with locations in Egypt, Portugal, Uzbekistan, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Mexico, and the USA. “We export our products to more than 30 countries,” Kaya added.
Detailing the company’s manufacturing capabilities, Kaya mentioned, “Our production capacity for inks is 30 tons per day, ensuring that we can meet the demands of all our export markets. All production takes place at our state-of-the-art facility in Istanbul.”
Highlighting URAS’s strengths, Sevgi Kaya emphasized that the company’s role as a producer of auxiliary chemicals for conventional, digital, and textile printing markets is a significant advantage. “By producing our raw materials in-house, we maintain superior control over the final quality of our inks. Additionally, our deep-rooted expertise in screen printing is a key differentiator—our founder was originally a screen printer. Since we also manufacture screen printing machines, we have extensive knowledge of the best inks to use. Our stringent commitment to quality and reliability has been instrumental in establishing a strong foothold in key global markets,” she explained.
Focus on India
According to Sevgi Kaya, India continues to be a crucial market for the company. “As the fastest-growing major economy, India remains a focus market for us. Besides India, the entire Asian market, including Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Pakistan, is also of great importance to us. We have had a presence in the Indian market for the past 10 years, and our products have been well received by the textile industry here,” she noted.
Kaya also mentioned that Tirupur-based A.R. Technologies represents URAS in the Indian market and provides after-sales support for their machinery.
Expressing optimism about the future prospects of the Indian market, Sevgi Kaya remarked that the company aims to grow in both the textile inks and machinery segments. “We have made significant progress with our inks and have also had a strong start with our machines, having sold several over the past year. Through our sustained efforts, quality products, and excellent technical support services, we are committed to continuing our growth in this vital market,” she concluded.
