Mr. Updeep Singh Chatrath, has been appointed as Director – Growth Initiatives at Welspun Living Limited, with effect from January 02, 2024. He will report to Ms. Dipali Goenka, Managing Director & CEO. In this role, he will support Ms. Goenka in all growth initiative exploratory work, conception, designing, sensitivity analysis and implementation.
Mr. Updeep Singh Chatrath is Bachelor of Science and holds an MBA degree. He is a strategic business management professional with over 36 years of global experience in textiles and textile machinery industry. He has worked with Sutlej Textiles and Industries Limited, Itema Group, NSL Textiles Limited, Welspun Living Limited (then known as Welspun India Limited) and Vardhman Textiles Limited. He also served as an independent director of Vardhman Yarns and Threads Limited, a joint venture between American & Efird (A&E) LLC, USA and Vardhman Textiles Limited, for six years from May, 2015 till May 2021. He has been a committee member of Confederation of Indian Textile Industry.
His core competencies include developing and executing competitive strategies, invigorating businesses by capacity and capability building across diverse cultures and operations, leading change and innovation, managing businesses with P&L responsibilities, track record of building strong teams through mentoring and coaching, enhancing customer and supplier relations and building high-performance executive teams. He has a collaborative mind-set and a passion for delivering excellence and value across diverse markets and segments. He has also completed several certificate programs from Harvard Business School Online, including disruptive strategy, sustainable business strategy and strategy execution to sharpen his skills and knowledge in these domains.
