The Textile Machinery and Mill Stores Merchants Association (TMMSMA) is celebrating its Pearl Jubilee Year in 2015-16. Established in 1986 with just 12 members, the Association has grown over the last 30 years and today it has more than 330 members.
TMMSMA’s 30th AGM held in Coimbatore on July 27 saw enthusiastic participation by a large number of members. Delivering his welcome address, its President, Mr. P. Gopal, stated that he felt proud that TMMSMA is a one-of-its-kind association for textile machinery and mill stores merchants in the country. “Innovation and renovation” has been the driving force behind textile machinery merchants from Coimbatore, being the most sought after around the country. He appreciated the drive and initiative of the members which have helped the Association carve a niche for itself.
In his address, Mr. R. Soundararajan, TMMSMA Secretary, stressed the need to help the Association to further expand membership. He also listed its major achievements during 2014-15.
Mr. N. Neelakrishnan, Immediate Past President of the Association, gave detailed insights on the proposed common facility centre that TMMSMA is planning to develop at the CODDISSIA Industrial Park in Coimbatore.
Also present on the occasion were the other office-bearers – Mr. Ajay D. Shah, first Vice President, Mr. S. Chinnadurai, second Vice President, and Mr. Vimal J. Shah, second Joint Secretary.
TMMSMA has taken several innovative steps towards servicing its members. It has appointed an exclusive legal consultant whom members can contact to discuss issues related to labour laws, trade regulations, etc. It also participates regularly in leading trade fairs such as TEXFAIR.
