Thymas Electronics (P) Ltd. (TEPL) is a company that sells high-quality textile-testing instruments. It was established in 1984 by technocrat Tulsidas Masand, an electronics engineer by qualification with more than 45 years of rich experience in manufacturing and selling of electronic products. In addition to textile-testing instruments, the company also offers installation and service of the equipment along with undertaking periodical calibration. It also conducts training programmes for its customers for proper operation of the equipment and error-free analysis of the results. TEPL has been authorised by several leading global brands for sales and distribution that include Advantage Scientific Inc., Bharat Machines, Hornik Fibertech, Wire Instrumentation, Textest Instruments, etc.
The company offers quality control instruments for various industries such as wool, nonwovens and parachutes. Some of its products include evenness tester, hairiness tester for spun yarn as well as evenness tester and strength tester for filament yarns. TEPL also provides spinnerette inspection systems for filament yarns. For nonwoven and parachute industries, it offers air permeability testers and hydrostatic head testers. For the wool industry its product portfolio includes wool diameter and fiber length analysing instruments along with fabric testing instruments like pick counter, Martindale abrasion tester and glove testing instruments. In addition, it also has flame and thermal Manikin testers and hot plate for defence and laboratory carpets.
Among the company’s new additions are Thermetrics LLC that manufactures a wide range of precision instruments for measuring and evaluating the thermal comfort of textiles, garments, protective apparel and dynamic thermal environments such as automobile, truck and aircraft interiors and Roaches International which is UK’s leading manufacturer of laboratory and sample dyeing equipment as well as quality control testing equipment. Some of the technologies included in the portfolio of Thymas Electronics such as the wool diameter and length analysing instruments and the various testers are exclusive to the company. “Almost 100% of the players in the filament, nonwoven, filtration and cotton industry are aware of our products,” says Masand.
Its key customers include Reliance, Bhilosa, Raymond, Voith, Shri Dinesh, Filtrum and Beekaylon, among others. TEPL has employed qualified electronic engineers with precise knowledge of textiles for sales and after-sales service. In its journey of 36 years, the company has built a long-lasting relationship with more than 500 clients. It now operates through eight branches and associates throughout India. Through Techtextil India 2019, Thymas Electronics hopes to improve its presence and reach out to new manufacturers, especially in the defence sector.
