Texbond Nonwovens emerges a global player with unique plans for growth

Nonwoven fabrics, gowns, lab coats, shopping bags, face masks, pillow covers, coverall suits and shower curtains are just a few of the many products the company manufactures

Long considered as pioneers in the manufacture of polypropylene spun bond nonwoven fabric in India, Texbond Nonwovens has continued to flourish as a company since its inception in 2006. The company has a wide range of fabrics, all of which are manufactured using superior quality raw material, as well as state-of the art technology, which ensure reliability. Over the years, the company has achieved enormous success by exponentially multiplying its finances and carefully building its economic stature. An interview with Texbond Nonwovens’ CEO Anshumali Jain provides deeper insights into the secret behind the company’s success.

Texbond Nonwovens is a leading manufacturer of a diverse range of products that cater to the industrial as well as the medical segments. Nonwoven fabrics, gowns, lab coats, shopping bags, face masks, pillow covers, coverall suits and shower curtains are just a few of the many products the company manufactures. Since the company has a wide range of clients that source from them, the upholding of product quality has become top priority for them, which is made possible through rigorously tested standards. Additionally, their use of state-of-the-art production line equipment and machinery in their manufacturing and formulation processes ensures that they can offer the best possible range of products.

The Right Commitment

This level of diligence would, however, not be possible without their workforce comprising over 500 employees, all of whom are carefully chosen through a rigorous screening process and dedicate themselves to performing their assigned tasks with the utmost efficiency. With a stellar workforce, as well as a constantly evolving technological infrastructure, Texbond Nonwovens is able to meet its production capacity of 12,000 tons per annum, which it hopes to triple in the coming years. Their decision to venture into nonwoven fabrics 15 years ago was, according to Jain, based on the absence of any manufacturers of the product at that time.

Seizing the opportunity, Texbond Nonwovens became the country’s first manufacturer of nonwovens at a time when the fabric was solely being imported from companies in China. It is this that sets Texbond Nonwovens different from its competitors today. In the global market, there exists a general hesitation to source products from China, with opportunities being given to manufacturers from countries like India. This, in addition to the company’s focus on industry-specific products, along with their years of experience and understanding of those markets, is what has garnered them their success over the years.

Focus on Innovation

Their other unique selling points include an experienced research and development department, a significantly large production capacity, diverse product line and the ability to provide customised solutions to their clients. It wouldn’t be a long shot to say that the company has reached the heights it has today thanks to the leadership of Anshumali Jain. With over 20 years of cumulative experience in the textile industry, Jain has engineered Texbond Nonwovens progression from regional boundaries to becoming a significant player in the global market, now delivering across Europe, the USA, the UK, Africa, and the Middle East.

He regards the huge transition that the company undertook from being entirely domestic to being almost 100% export-oriented as his biggest achievement since the company’s inception in 2006. His outstanding managerial qualities and commercial prowess has also enabled the company to adapt to any kind of adversity that comes their way and resume production – a trait that is very crucial to possess in such a dynamic industry. The corona virus pandemic, which proved to be devastating for many companies, presented its fair share of obstacles, which though challenging, were overcome by Texbond Nonwovens without any major change being made to the modus operandi.

Learning from Challenges

Interestingly, the company regards the pandemic as an enriching experience of sorts, having learnt how to quickly adapt in the face of such a devastating phenomenon and resume normal production. While it has become common to see other companies in the industry adopt various technological measures to cope with the plethora of inconveniences caused by the pandemic, Texbond Nonwovens, surprisingly, had no need for the same, and can report no significant, lasting harm dealt to them as a result of the crisis. However, the company’s pathway to growth over the years has not been without its hitches.

For instance, the procurement of raw material – a crucial process in the manufacturing business – is regarded an oligopoly by Jain. He has expressed that some of the most vital raw materials such as crude and polymer resin are in the possession of a select few individuals who make the rules regarding sale and distribution. In scenarios like this, companies like Texbond Nonwovens have no choice but to comply despite the inconveniences that may be involved. However, with resiliency and progress being the company’s driving factors, it is no surprise that they have managed to adapt and overcome these obstacles and rise to the position they are at today.

The Way Ahead

Moving forward, Texbond Nonwovens has a very bright future ahead of it with current plans in place for organically tripling its production capacity over the next 4-5 years. With an impressive clientele, the company plans to further bolster its reputation in the industry and become an integrated solution provider to most of its customers. An expanding customer base leads to a high demand for a greater variety of products, which in turn leads to constant innovation from the company’s end and an addition of specific performance products to their portfolio. Indeed, Texbond Nonwovens is on the pathway to reaching astronomical heights in the years to come and is presently gearing itself up for this exciting new chapter of growth.
