Tessutica’s flourishing partnership with Prashant Group

Driving success through collaborative excellence

Founded in 1959 by Mr. Roger De Clerck, Beaulieu Fabrics marked the beginning of a remarkable textile journey that would eventually lead to the establishment of Tessutica. Today, as a division of the renowned Beaulieu International Group, Tessutica stands tall as a symbol of innovation and quality.

Beaulieu Fabrics, renowned for its cost-effective volume-driven fabrics, became a trailblazer in the industry, earning a reputation as a leader for several decades. The union of Beaulieu Fabrics with competitors Tissat and Ragolle Fabrics in 2013 gave birth to Tessutica, forming a formidable force in the market. Consolidating their production in a state-of-the-art upholstery factory in Romania showcased Tessutica’s commitment to efficiency and advancement. In 2019, they achieved a groundbreaking milestone by producing recyclable fabrics made from 100% recycled yarns, becoming the first company to do so. Today, over 25% of their fabrics are sourced from recycled materials, and an impressive 85% of their fabrics can be recycled themselves, embodying their dedication to a greener future.

Tessutica’s production facilities stand as a testament to their commitment to excellence in the textile industry. The warping division is equipped with four advanced warping machines, including the Suzuki, Benninger, Prashant Robowarp, and Prashant Lasertronic, facilitating precise and efficient yarn preparation. Within their weaving department, Tessutica operates an impressive fleet of 110 looms, comprising 20 double width looms and 90 single width looms. This extensive capacity allows for the production of a diverse range of fabrics to meet various design and functional requirements. Additionally, the department is equipped with a Prashant loomprinter, enabling intricate and detailed fabric customization.

To ensure impeccable quality, Tessutica’s finishing department is outfitted with cutting-edge machinery, including a German stenter, as well as a Italian tumbler. These advanced systems provide superior finishing touches, enhancing the durability and aesthetic appeal of their fabrics. With a dedicated end-inspection department and an efficient dispatch department, Tessutica maintains strict quality control throughout the production process, ensuring that only the finest fabrics reach their customers. Operating in three shifts, their production capacity reaches an impressive milestone of 3 million linear meters of upholstery per year. Recently, the company has shifted its focus from cheaper volume fabrics to higher-end niche products, forging partnerships with customers to create exquisite fabrics that meet the demands of discerning clients.

The company offers a diverse range of products and solutions that have several applications. Chenille yarns are a core component of their upholstery fabrics, making them a significant consumer in the market. They also incorporate fancy yarns like polyester blends and polypropylene for outdoor use, both in virgin and recycled versions. Tessutica’s fabrics are grouped into three pillars. Easy Care Fabrics are designed for effortless cleaning with water and soap, reflecting their understanding of the integral role sofas play in daily life. Greencare Fabrics are made from recycled yarns, certified under the Global Recycled Standard (GRS), showcasing their commitment to sustainability. Lastly, their Outdoor Fabrics, featuring polypropylene yarns, offer a fresh alternative to traditional acrylic-based outdoor fabrics.

While Tessutica minimizes chemical treatments, they offer optional finishes in their department, such as fire-retardant treatments, water and oil repellence, anti-bacterial properties, and fleece backing for enhanced comfort. Additionally, all their products adhere to notable certifications, including ISO 9001, Oeko-Tex 100, with Oeko-Tex Step certification expected soon, and the esteemed GRS certification.

The impact of geopolitical tensions in Europe has not been without its challenges for Tessutica. With over 75% of their sales previously directed towards the UK, the effects of Brexit were keenly felt. In response, the company strategically ventured into new markets, necessitating the development of tailored offerings. The company also acknowledged the distinct requirements of other continents such as the USA, Asia, and the Middle East.

Partnership with Prashant Group

The relationship between Tessutica and Prashant Group of India is marked by mutual respect and open communication. The two companies maintain a constructive dialogue, where Tessutica’s ideas, advice, and experiences are valued by Prashant. Through frequent visits, both teams have gained a deep understanding of each other’s operations, bridging the geographical distance between India and Romania through virtual means like conference calls, WhatsApp, and email. Tessutica relies on several key products from Prashant Group to enhance their textile mill operations. These include the Prashant Robowarp, Prashant Lasertronic, and Prashant Loomprinter, which have been integral to their manufacturing processes.

The collaboration between Tessutica and Prashant has spanned a significant duration. The Lasertronic was delivered and installed in 2018, followed by the Robowarp in 2020, despite the challenges posed to their company’s technician due to a three-month Covid-related lockdowns. The Loom printer, their latest addition, was delivered and started up in 2021. Finally, regarding after-sales services, Tessutica maintains a close and fruitful connection with Prashant. Each equipment delivery is accompanied by a set of spare parts. Although spare parts are infrequently required, the availability of most parts within Europe ensures quick and efficient procurement.

“Our partnership with Prashant is a testament to the power of collaboration. Their innovative solutions and reliable after-sales services have greatly enhanced our operations. Together, we strive for excellence, ensuring that our textile mill meets evolving industry needs. With Prashant Group’s support, we are confident in our journey towards success,” said Karl Henderson, GM, Tessutica.

Moreover, Tessutica recognizes the enduring importance of flexibility and service, prioritizing the ability to adapt to evolving market demands while delivering exceptional support.
