Technoplants srl of Italy has made a mark for itself with its quality range of textile machinery. The product range of Technoplants include, cross lappers and needle looms, as well as cutting, winding and packaging systems. The company was in news recently for joining hands with The Gaurs, who are now representing Technoplants in India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
In an exclusive interview, Mr. Marco Gualtieri, founder and CEO of Technoplants, gave detailed insights the company’s product range, its expertise in the non-wovens sector, its foray into the Indian market, The Gaurs and its future plans.
Here are the edited excerpts:
Going into details regarding the initial establishment of the company Mr. Gualtieri said: “I founded Technoplants srl in 1984 and from the beginning, it has been a preferred supplier for well-known Industrial Houses. In 1990, Mr. Claudio Bracali joined the company. He had accumulated vast experience as a designer of mechanical-textile machinery and contributed to the construction of new machinery, which received success both in Italy and abroad. In the mid-1990s Technoplants recognized the demand for end-of-line machinery which can automate the final transformation processes of non-woven products. The product range, which initially consisted of cross lappers and needle looms, was then upgraded with a new series of cutting, winding and packaging systems.”
Continuing further he added: “All of this accumulated experience has allowed us to supply full turnkey non-woven production lines. Technoplants is the patent holder for its innovative ‘Airplay Card’ and ‘Thermobonding Oven’, which are used for the production of technically advanced products. Our goal of constant research, innovation, quality, and customer satisfaction hasn’t changed through the years and will continue to guide us in the future. To guarantee our technical ability and prowess, we built a 3 m wide production line in our works at Pistoia, Italy, where customers can have trial runs with their fibers.”
Speaking about the products and solutions offered by Technoplants, Mr. Gualtieri mentioned: “We routinely do a lot of custom designed machinery and complete production lines for our customers.”
Technoplants supplies its machines and provides technical support world over. “Our key markets in terms of product areas include automotive industry, shoes industry, construction industry and mattresses, Mr. Gualtieri said.
Coming to Technoplants presence in the Indian market, Mr. Gualtieri pointed out that the company’s machines have been present for more than 5 years now.” India, in general, is still very nascent in the non-wovens sector and there are very few manufacturers producing quality products. There are 40+ machines running in India alone,” he added.
Speaking about the association with The Gaurs, Mr. Gualtieri said while we have been working together only for about the last two months, we feel that The Gaurs have good knowledge about non-wovens and have made presentations to many knowledgeable prospective customers. The Gaurs are representing Technoplants in India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
Elaborating on the key factors that would drive the demand for Technoplants in the Indian, as well other key global markets, Mr. Gualtieri observed: “The Indian market is still very young and non-wovens are still in its infancy. The market is bound to grow many times more shortly which will drive the demand. We are confident that with our patented technology and technical expertise, we will be able to leverage these opportunities in our favour. Plus, the fact that sectors such as automotive, mattresses, construction industry and all those who are looking for high precision production and guaranteed repeatability of results, will prefer to have primary suppliers as Technoplants.”
Speaking about after sales service and remote diagnostic capabilities, Mr. Gualtieri said: “Remote controlled diagnostics of the machine is available on every single machine we have installed in the last 15 years. We have after sales services in the US, Russia, China and Europe. We are strengthening our service infrastructure in India.”
Finally, rounding off the interaction, Mr. Gualtieri spelt out Technoplants future plans saying: “We on an average introduce a new technology in a machine or introduce a new machine every 2 years. This year, in 2019, we will introduce a new air lay card, specifically for the heavy weight market.”
