Techno Electronics & Instruments, based in Coimbatore, has grown steadily over the years and is today considered one of the leading manufacturers and exporters of textile testing instruments for cotton, yarn and fabrics. The company products are extensively used in quality control labs of ginners, spinners, yarn & cotton traders, garment manufacturers, as well as fabric manufacturing units.
The company that began its eventful journey way back in 1992 has grown step by step to become a preferred supplier in the textile industry. It now operates out of a sprawling 3,500 sq.ft. modern work space, consisting of its factory and office-cum R&D centre. The company recently launched two new products – the Tecchno Mobilo Mic (digital micronnaire) and the Tecchno cone crush tester.
Elaborating on the new products, Mr. R. Balakrishnan, CEO of the company, said: “The Tecchno Mobilo Mic, with advanced microprosessor technology, enables testing of Mic samples by dual mode technology. Mic testing can be done on in-built compressor, as well as external compressor. Mobilo Mic comes with storage and print facility. The Tecchno cone crush tester is again a microprocessor-based digital instrument that provides accurate results in quick time.”
Mr. Balakrishnan further observed: “While similar products are already available in the market, what differentiates our product offerings is the value addition that we bring in with respect to aftermarket services. Additionally, it has also been our endeavor to be as price competitive as possible, without compromising whatsoever on the quality. We really want to give the customer a quality product, at an economical price, backed up by service assurance”.
Consistent R&D focus has been one of the keys of Techno Electronics & Instruments’ growth story. “Both the new products are yet another testimonial to our focus on R&D. We have developed these products indigenously. We are always getting feedback from the end-users and are developing products with innovative features suiting the needs of the customer,” added Mr. Balakrishnan.
An unflinching commitment to quality has been another strong point of the company. Going into further details on the topic, he said: “We follow AATCC, ISO and BIS Standards. We have implemented the 5S quality management system. Our company is rated by the credit rating agency SMERA (D&B) and certified by the Bureau Veritas and UKAS for ISO standards. It is a matter of pride for us to state that all our yarn testing instruments and trash separator are CE certified”.
A strong focus on aftersales technical support services has been paying the company rich dividends. Zeroing in on this key factor, Mr. Balakrishnan stated: “For us a satisfied customer is our best advertisement. I take pride in my aftersales service team. They are always willing to help out our customers. We can also proudly say that our entire sales in the Tamil Nadu region are through word of mouth publicity only. Moreover, our textile testing instruments are designed in the most user-friendly manner. Even if there are some issues, the user-friendly design is such that even remote trouble-shooting is possible. Just in case resolution of a particular issue requires a personal visit by our team of technical experts, that is done promptly.”
According to Mr. Balakrishnan, future plans of the company include upgradation of its manufacturing facility, as also trying to further explore business opportunities in key export markets. It is already exporting its products to Bangladesh, Peru, Turkey and Indonesia, in addition to basic instruments through Premier Evolvics Channel as a package, whenever the customer seeks a total package solution.
