The ITMA exhibition has always been an event which everyone associated with the textile industry looks forward to. No other global event perhaps can match the intensity and involvement of exhibitors and visitors alike. Even on the last day of ITMA, though tired and exhausted, both exhibitors and the visitors showed the same spirit of enthusiasm.
Batliboi’s entire sales team, as in previous exhibitions, was present during the entire duration. In fact, the whole team was there for pre-briefing, the orientation of ITMA exhibits programme organised by its principals.
Response from Indian visitors was exceptional despite signs of slowdown in spinning. More importantly, the quality of visitors who attended the exhibition was outstanding. Every visitor took lots of interest in the latest innovations, no matter whether a particular machine was in his shopping list or not. Such keen interest encourages manufacturers to try even harder in future. After all, they spend millions to showcase the developments during such exhibitions.
To Batliboi all visitors are important, irrespective of which company they represent. The company booth had visitors from all segments comprising decision makers, technocrats and marketing personnel; so it was a mix of the entire spectrum.
At this ITMA, the major emphasis behind all innovations was Industry 4.0 and Environmental Sustainability. The Batliboi principals were no exception. All of them displayed products which are more eco-friendly, more customer-oriented, and with automation features to assist in adopting a cleaner production approach, helping manufacturers to enjoy the ‘triple bottom line’ of profit, people and planet while contributing to a circular economy.
The company concluded some important orders at the show. Some of the orders were for machines displayed for the first time. That shows customers are prepared to accept the challenges with new technological innovations and not wait for others to try first.
The company finalised a few new agencies, especially in the area of recycling, to further consolidate its product portfolio. Some of these manufacturers are already present in India and they have joined hands with it for mutual benefits in the coming years.
In spite the current slowdown, the post-ITMA scenario is encouraging because customers are convinced about the growing position of Indian manufacturers in the overseas market. New emerging markets, coupled with the existing ones, present lots of opportunities in exports as well as on the domestic front. The only way to remain a step ahead of competitors is to invest in sustainable technology for tomorrow. Batliboi always strives to assist its customers to achieve this goal.
