Nesterra stitches together a world of décor ‘featuring you’ that draws inspiration from nature and the global realm, curating elements from different cultures and experiences.
Sutlej Textiles and Industries extended from the manufacture of specialised yarns to the manufacture of home furnishings in 2006. The new business was synergic as it leveraged the same distribution network in India and abroad and broad-based the company’s risk profile from complete dependence on yarn to home furnishing fabrics. The company has the capacity to manufacture 9.6 million metres per annum of home furnishings.
On the Growth Path
Speaking about the company’s home textile business performance in FY22, Oscar Reig Plaza, Business Head (Home Textiles Business), Sutlej Textiles and Industries ltd & CEO American Silk Mills said, “Our business grew by 50% compared to the previous year, penetrating deeper with selective key players around the world. We are offering drapery and upholstery weight fabrics, prints, sheers, performance fabrics and various functional finishes.” Nesterra was launched to graduate Sutlej Textiles and Industries’ home textiles product range. The brand will capitalise on the company’s proprietary yarns and manufacture fabric from cutting-edge weaving looms.
Within a short span of time, Nesterra has begun earning the respect for producing quality, consistency, aesthetic designs and timely service in India’s retail sector. With an aim to leverage the rich attributes of the brand, Nesterra hopes to carve out a niche of premium quality and diverse selection that epitomises your personality in your home, thereby positioning itself as a leader in the furnishings space. Sutlej Textiles and Industries is participating at Heimtextil 2022, Frankfurt with the theme ‘Modern European Design Aesthetics’. The main highlights will be performance fabrics, drapery and upholstery, sustainable fabrics, melange fabrics and prints. Elaborating about the key global markets that the company has a footprint in or aims to explore, Oscar said, “Our main markets are North America, the United Kingdom, the Middle East and India. In 2021 we made maximum in-roads in North America and the UK.”
Geographical Expansion
Sutlej Textiles and Industries’ home textile division has experienced positive traction and growth post the pandemic in several of the key global markets. It has extended its presence in the US through acquisition of the design, sales and distribution business along with the brand of American Silk Mills, a company that enjoys a rich legacy of designing, weaving and sourcing innovative textiles with high-end aesthetics. Its products include luxury silk, fine jacquards, as well as the Brussels®, Sensuede® and Enduro Silk® brands.
