Coimbatore- based Super Machine Works has carved a niche in the field of Autoleveller Drawframes and Open End Rotor Spinning Machines. The company known for its strong R&D focus is all set to launch its latest product – the “SUPER – SC 1” Carding Machine, “SUPER RS2” – its latest model Open End Spinning Machine and “SUPER D2 plus “Twin Independent AutoLeveller Drawframes at Texfair 2024.
We caught up with Mr. T.S. Sundaram, Joint Managing Director of the company and asked him about the performance of the company in 2023-24. “Compared to 2022-23, 2023-24 was a dull period because the overall scenario globally did not support textiles. Due to the war in Ukraine and the problems in the Middle East and the slowdown of economy of the western countries, Major exports were cut down and most of the companies who were doing exports of textile commodities came into the domestic market. As a consequence, the domestic market was overcrowded.”
“The business funnel of Indian textile industry was getting narrow for all, and many could not notice the shrinking gap, and only very few people could come out successful. We have to see whether there are ways to make the funnel bigger or enter into a different funnel altogether! , (Meaning – new areas of business), “he added.
The company will be showcasing the latest versions of its drawframes at Texfair. Going into details Mr. Sundaram said,” We will be displaying a very special ‘SUPER D2 PLUS’ Drawframe. The suffix PLUS indicates an additional plus 1 Delivery Output, over the basic single delivery Drawframe ‘SUPER D2 ‘.Our latest generation drawframes have been code named starting from SUPER D1, D2… and so on. With cur combined R&D efforts, we will continue to develop drawframes in that order.”
The PLUS MODELS are very compact double delivery autoleveller drawframes, with a very unique can changer. Usually the automatic can changer occupies more floor space, But in our PLUS models we have remodified it as a very compact machine which will appeal to all the customers who are facing space crunch,” he explained.
New launches
The highlight will be the launch of the company’s ‘SC 1 SUPER Card’. “We have already made the prototype of the carding machine, and it is on trials successfully. We will be displaying the actual production model for the general public at Texfair 2024, “Mr. Sundaram said.
“We are also introducing a new model of Open End – ‘SUPER RS2’. This new model comes with the capability to run two different counts on both the sides. This model is a little bit different from others.
It has a unique, joint spinning system, with digital yarn piecing. This machine enables you to have a control of 90% + joining efficiency in case of a power failure. It is powered by 2 different E-cams on either side for winding. There are a host of new features, which you can check out at our stall,” he observed.
The company has been participating in Texfair right from the first edition the trade fair. “Year on year Texfair has been very supportive for us. The South Indian crowd is always the maximum at this fair, and they feel free and spend more time, and take a closer look at the latest developments. This trade fair is also an excellent platform for networking,” he highlighted.
