Suditi Industries betting big on domestic retails

Suditi Industries was incorporated in 1991 by the leadership and vision of Mr. Pawan Agarwal. The President of the company, Mr. Chinraj, comes in with rich textile background as he spearheads on strategy of the brand. Since inception, the company has been and developing into one of the most competent and professionally well equipped organization.

From an humble beginning with just 50 employees, the company has now more than 900 workers under its group. It operated out of two units located at Turbhe, Navi Mumbai, and Bhiwandi for fabric and garment production.

Suditi’s infrastructure comprises complete facilities required for knitwear manufacturing, right from German knitting machines – Mayer & Cie., Wet processing – Sclavos and Santex, Finishing, Garmenting and Retailing. The company has the capacity to produce 10 tons of fabric per day and a sewing capacity of close to 15,000 pieces per day.

The production site at Navi Mumbai is equipped with modern printing, multi-head embroidery and laser engravers for acquiring different finishes. The ultra-modern facilities ensure maximum productivity, with minimum workforce required at every stage of production. The periodical modernization at every factory ensures the updates best quality standards available in the Industry.

The company in 2010 launched its own brand, RIOT, for casual wears with USP of knitted denims. However this year RIOT plans to bring back its revamped knitted denim collection for its denim savvy customer base. The concept of knitted denim is increasingly gaining acceptance across the globe. It is seen  to be an excellent alternative for denim in  garment industry. The company is betting big on retails for its new brand and is expected to have an incremental growth in the next few years.

Brand RIOT has been currently sold through 10 company-owned retails units located across Maharashtra and Gujarat, at multi-brands like Shopper Stop, Lifestyle and Central and of course through various online portals like Amazon, Myntra, Jabong, Flipkart, Paytm and many more. These new knitted denims & shorts from Riot are positioned at a mid-level segment with price tag ranging from Rs. 1,799 to Rs. 3,000.

For many years Suditi has been leading the way when it comes to manufacturing of knitted garment using innovative fibres. The company has tied up with leading brands such as Birla Cellulose for viscose, Reliance for polyester, Nystar for nylon and Du-Pont for technical fibres. Suditi is also a pioneer when it comes to usage of bamboo fibre in knitwear.

Equipped with advance design centre at its production site, Suditi gets most of its design needs fulfilled using its trained employees. The company also has ambitious vision of venturing into fields like geo-textiles and build-tech using their expertise in technical textiles.

In the field for more than two decades, Suditi is still a medium-sized company, with a turnover of close to Rs. 100 crores. The brand aims to grow at 65 per cent year-on-year in branded garments. The group’s overall growth is expected at 20 per cent in the next few years, the same as the average industry growth. The company aims to touch the Rs. 200-crore mark by 2020.
