Stovec Industries Ltd., a subsidiary of SPGPrints of The Netherlands, has its technological and market leadership in the rotary screen printing industry in India. This is quite evident from the good business done in the past years along with the consolidated hold on the market.
Established in the early 1970s, Stovec is predominantly involved in two businesses – the consumable business which includes rotary screen printing, graphic screen printing and digital textile inks, and the capital equipment business covering rotary printing machines, engraving machines and digital textile printers. The company maintains its leadership position in India by remaining focused on enhancing its share.
Stovec has witnessed a growth with jaw dropping CAGR of about 25% per annum over the last four years and is upbeat on the progress in the coming years. The company is constantly working to enhance customer satisfaction by improving its manufacturing facilities and service levels.
The company has its strong emphasis on technological developments and zero compromise on quality. Its Nova screens (mesh 135, 165, 195) are known for quality and designs. The company not only has the best technology and products but also a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. In fact, Stovec is the only manufacturing facility in India which has fully air-conditioned screen manufacturing facility. This is to ensure the highest quality of screens that keep dust away.
The company’s R&D intensive programs, combined with its focus on innovation and improvement, has enabled Stovec to become the Global Competence Center for Rotary printing in the SPGPrints Group. Today, they are seen as a key international player in the industry and export to clients in all major textile printing markets in Europe, the US, Turkey, China, South-East Asia and the Indian sub-continent. It has even exported Rotary printing machines to Japan. With the strong operational base, enriched with enough resources, the company enhances its capacity as and when the situation demands.
Moreover, Stovec’s portfolio of rotary machines, the fully automatic Pegasus EVO manufactured in India, are widely accepted in the market. Even the semi-automatic RD8ID machine has attracted customers as each printing head is provided with an individual servo motor for better performance.
The company has seen a major growth spurt in the past 3-4 years with growing popularity of its technology. Stovec has a good brand recall among the customers for its elaborate aftersales services. With a team of 25 engineers located in all major cities in India, Stovec extends the best of service support to its valued customers.
Mr. Shailesh Wani, Managing Director for Stovec Industries Ltd., is the former CEO of the joint venture company of Thermax Ltd. of India and SPX Corporation of the US. Under his guidance since 2013, the company developed automatic and semi-automatic rotary printing lines which opened new markets in India and abroad. It has a very strong position in India with conventional printing systems and screens, Laser Engraver and Pre-press chemicals. These are improving their market share in the digital inks portfolio with their inks for Kyocera / Epson PH installed base in India.
From the parent company, SPGPrints’ perspective, India has been a very important market and is poised for a strong future growth. In the digital print segment, the company has proliferated in the market with digital inks and has launched the Archer technology with its PIKE and JAVELIN Digital textile printing lines. This technology fulfills the key requirements of the current market.
Both PIKE & JAVELIN printers are based on Fujifilm Samba Print Head with native resolution of 1200 DPI and variable drop size of 2-10pL. The firing frequency of 32 KHz and the print head nozzle plate has an extended distance of 4-5 mm from the surface of fabric, ensuring flawless and extremely detailed printing results. The Samba print head technology comes with 30 months warranty, thus reducing the print head cost for the client.
Mr. Shailesh Wani believes that digital printing has vast growth opportunities in India. As he mentions, “conventional printing accounts for 95% of overall prints in India; hence, both these segments will grow side by side.”
Most of the digital printing technology is imported from European players. Similarly, Stovec’s products are also designed, engineered and turned out in Europe. The digital printing capabilities can be witnessed at the in-house demo center built at their parent company in Boxmeer.
The digital prints segment is highly sustainable, but with SPGPrints inputs the technology minimizes the use of chemicals and prints in a way to minimize wastage of cloth as well. Users of the Archer technology are able to produce fine geometrical & deep blotches designs on the fabrics. The PH are continuously circulating inks even under the idle mode and thus keeping all nozzles active for printing, thus eliminating the need to purge every time before printing takes place. Customers are able to achieve better resolution on their fabrics with 1200 dpi native Print head. Moreover, ink wastage is the least, and total system becomes more ergonomic.
Mr. Shailesh Wani said choosing the right quality of inks becomes essential for continuous production and growth in business. The company has always suggested that customers select the best available options and the judge for quality themselves. Nevertheless, there are two parameters to be checked: First, the Ink Run ability, and second the color strength. There can be no compromise on either while selecting the right partner for digital ink, as the printer is required to run smoothly and produce best colors so the fabric produced is popular among the end users.
With all its developments and achievements, Stovec has become a popular name in the industry and is the preferred partner for printing requirements. SPGPrints vision is to continue its undisputed global market leadership for rotary screen printing and digital printing.
Thus justifying their brand promise “All you need in printing.”
