Production was started in 1972, with technical collaboration of SKF Bearings India, the premier manufacturer of critical drafting components.

The induction heater used for hardening the bottom rollers is truly state-of-the-art. Even the inventories are managed through a computerised system. Quality checks are made at every stage of the manufacturing process. Testing equipment include air gauges and dial gauges which leave nothing to chance. Sovereign started off the production of drafting conversion materials for ring spinning frames with SKF PK 211 top arms. Presently for ring frames SKF PK 2025 and PK 2035 top arms, for speed frames SKF PK 1600-40 and PK 1500 top arms are being used.
The products of Sovereign are well received by not only domestic customers, but also by overseas customers as well. More than million spindles of ring frames and two lakh spindles of speed frames converted by Sovereign are in operation world over.
The company has been awarded ISO 9001-2000 Certification by TUV SUD South Asia Pvt. Ltd. for implementing and maintaining quality systems.
