SMIT introducing new terry machine for Asian market

SMIT-RaisInamdarSMIT Textile has for long been a reference pole for terry machines since its first terry machines manufactured in the 1970s. The terry machines market always offers a very important share for SMIT Textile sales.

Today the company is recognized all over the world both for its mechanical and electronic affordability and textile superiority.

One key point for the superior quality terry weaving is the base choice for the pile formation technology as there are two alternative possible ways. In the first one the whole fabric and warp are continuously shifted to and fro in order to get the cloth fell away from the reed beat line which always fells the same. This solution might be simpler and cheaper for the loom manufacturer as the reed and the fabric motions can be kept separate with less mechanical precision requested.

But this means having the warp ends continuously scraping onto the droppers and heddles thus getting worn, and the whole warp tension weaving together with the fabric, not to mention the just-formed-piles scraping onto the cloth support.

In the other way, adopted by SMIT Textile, only the reed beat line is driven to fell in different positions, keeping the whole fabric and warp at a rest, just like on a plain weaving machine. The absence of movement for both fabric and warp guarantees no warp scraping on the droppers and heddles and a perfect control for the pile and ground warp tensions as the backrest and fabric support are still. And the just-formed-piles simply and smoothly pass over the fabric support, with no other motion than the natural fabric taking up.

The textile result of this second technology is a perfect pile formation, with a perfect weave construction with superb pile evenness and a sharp cut between the pile and border. When customers are looking to weave top quality terry products the best answer is definitively given by SMIT Textile.

Today the company provides its superior terry technology that ensures a dramatic productivity hike, thanks to the new pile tension equalizer (PTE) system. PTE is a steel dumping coil that trims any tension peak that may arise during the weaving on the pile warp: this comes in a much lower average stress for the pile ends, thus dropping significantly the warp stop rate.

With PTE even the most delicate pile warps can be used keeping an excellent efficiency.

The hard balance between spinning and weaving costs may sometimes lead textile mills to take hard choices that may affect spinning productivity on the one hand or the weaving efficiency on the other. But today SMIT Textile can offer a real help to all customers who want to join the superior terry technology for increasing the production rate.
