Skaat launches Air Slub & Linear Bale Opener

Coimbatore –based SKAAT has made a distinct name for itself with its fancy yarn machinery. Its product lineup also includes the popular Robo packing machine, ‘Optic’ spindle monitoring system and smart feeder. Adding to its product portfolio the company launched a Linear Bale Opener (LBO) and Air Slub exclusively for airjet spinning at Texfair 2024.

In an exclusive chat at the company’s booth at the event, Radhakrishnan, Managing Director of the company said,” We have introduced this new LBO for blow room lines. It has been 100% indigenously designed by SKAAT. It comes with a lot of features, such as the mechanism to open cotton or viscose in a smooth manner. It comes with safety features such as in-built fire protection, water spraying and metal detection systems.”

“Our LBO is IoT compatible. You can connect it to your computer network, server, cloud, etc. It features two lanes. It automatically collects cotton from one lane and passes it on to the other lane. You can program it accordingly. This enables very good blending quality. It is designed for high speed and high productivity,” he added.

Speaking about the Air Slub System, he said, “This machine is designed exclusively for airject spinning. This machine again, comes with a host of features, which will support the production of different types of fancy yarns.”

Also on display at the company’s stall were its regular slub core systems. “We are introducing a new slub core system with a magnetic core. It comes with the feature of roving stop motion,” he stated.

Going into details regarding the competitive edge that the company’s solutions offer Radhakrishnan mentioned that the present day customer wants reliability, technology, trouble-free performance, higher productivity and easy maintenance. “With 23 years of rich and varied experience behind us, we are able to offer all these advantages. Plus, the fact that we support our customers with prompt service and spares. Our technical engineers are just a call away, ensuring minimal machine downtime,” he explained.

Global presence

The company’s quality focus has seen its products make inroads in key global markets including, USA, Brazil, Mexico, Chile, Indonesia, Vietnam and Bangladesh.” We are also getting enquiries from China. We hope that we will also be able to make a strong brand reputation there in the near future “he added.

Sounding happy with the response for the company’s products at the event he said,” Texfair has always been an important exhibition for us. This edition we saw very good record of footfalls. I strongly believe, this edition signals the beginning of good times for the textile industry.”

Delving on the company’s recent performance Radhakrishnan remarked, “I would say that the first quarter of this year was neither good nor bad. In comparison with last year, it was on the higher side. The textile industry has always seen such ups and downs. We are looking forward to a positive turnaround after September 2024.”
