Simta is a name that needs no introduction to anyone from the textile fraternity. The Simta group offers a range of quality products for the textile industry including, spindle tapes, clearer rollers, bobbin transport system, OHTCs, industrial fabrics and foundation fabrics. The company is all set to launch its new automatic cone packing system at the Texfair 2024.
In an exclusive chat at Simta’s headquarters in Coimbatore, S.Senthil Kumar, the Managing Director, sounded upbeat about the performance of the group’s textile business in FY 2023-24. “We have got a very good order book. We utilized almost 85% of our capacity. We have seen good bookings in the first quarter of 2024. Maybe the next quarter too we can manage. However, there are other things that the market will decide,” he said.
“While there are situations beyond our control like wars happening, I feel that if you are working hard and are sincere, you will be definitely be able to make a head way in some markets. For example, if a customer is investing Rs.100 crore in a new project, they cannot stop after investing Rs.60crore. We can help them invest in a phased manner. Our expertise is in demand and we are able to manage,” he explained.
Exports constitute about 50 % of the company’s business revenue. Simta’s key export markets include countries in South America, Europe Asia and Africa.
New launch
At Texfair 2024 the company is going to display all its products. However, the highlight is going to be the launch of its automatic cone packing system. “Although we have already supplied the product to 3 customers, we will be launching it formally during Texfair 2024, “Senthil Kumar mentioned.
Simta has been regularly participating in the event since the first edition of the event. According to him, the trade fair gives it an opportunity to meet all its customers in one place. “Coimbatore and other surrounding areas such as Erode, Salem, Tirupur, Karur, Dindugal, Madurai and Rajapalayam, in Tamil Nadu, make up for a globally prominent spinning hub. You can find a spindle capacity of nearly 100 million in this region.”
“What makes Texfair special is that it is an industrial exhibition organized by the user-industry. This means the end-users visit in big numbers. One can meet good numbers of top management and decision makers visiting the exhibition,” he explained.
Going into the strength of the company’s product range, he stated, “We have been serving the market for over 35 years now. We offer customized solutions keeping in mind, every customer’s unique requirements. Every one of our products is also known for their longevity. The spare consumption is almost negligible. We also back it up with prompt after sales service support. All these factors have made us a top choice when it comes to automation in the textile industry.”
Welcoming visitors to the company’s stall, Senthil Kumar said, “You can meet us at stall no: ‘B 11’. While the market may not be doing up to expectations, there are still green shoots. Customers are still investing in a small way, particularly in automation. Our team will be present in full strength to guide them on investing in a phased manner and reaping the benefits of automation. Visit our booth and find out more about tailor-made solutions and the advantages you can get out of it.”
