The Southern India Mills’ Association (SIMA), representing the entire textile value chain in South India and the single largest regional Federation for the textile industry, has been organizing Texfair, an international textile machinery, spares, accessories, equipments and services Expo every alternate year since 2001. This Expo aims at encouraging import substation, indigenous manufacturing, supporting new entrepreneurs (Start Ups) and SSI units apart from attracting global leaders in textile machinery and spares manufacturing, thus making Atmanirbhar Bharat vision. SIMA has so far conducted 12 events and the 13th edition of Texfair 2022 is ready to take off from 24th June 2022. The four-day event will start on 24th June 2022 and end on 27th June 2022. The visiting hours are between 10.00 am and 6.00 pm.
In a press release, Mr. Ravi Sam, Chairman, SIMA, has stated that Texfair 2022 had an overwhelming response as the Association is conducting the event after the COVID pandemic. He has said that the event has attracted 220 exhibitors showcasing their products in 295 stalls. Mr. Ravi Sam has stated that several exhibitors are going to launch their new products and apart from all the leading players in India, exhibitors from various countries like Switzerland, Belgium, Italy, Japan, etc., are also participating in the event.
Mr. Ravi Sam has said that the Association had originally planned to inaugurate the event formally with the Hon’ble Minister of Textiles, Shri. Piyush Goyal, on 24th June, 2022. As the Hon’ble Minister has postponed his visit by one day, i.e., 25th June 2022, the meeting with the Hon’ble Minister will now be held on 25th June 2022 at 4.15 pm on Saturday at CODISSIA Trade Fair Complex, Coimbatore. Dr. L. Murugan, Hon’ble Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, Thiru. V. Senthil Balaji, Hon’ble Minister for Electricity, Thiru. R. Sakkarapani, Hon’ble Minister for Food and Civil Supplies, Thiru. R. Gandhi, Hon’ble Minister for Handlooms and Textiles, Government of Tamil Nadu, have agreed to be the Guests of Honour of the function and dignitaries would visit the stalls erected in the Expo.
Mr. Ravi Sam has said that Texfair would attract around one lakh visitors not only from India, but also from countries like Bangladesh, Indonesia, Thailand, etc. He has said that Texfair 2022 would be an ideal platform where the textile manufacturing sectors across the value chain can zero in their machinery, spares, accessories, equipments and services requirement at a competitive rate and derive the benefit. SIMA Chairman has stated that there is no entrance fee for the stakeholders to visit the fair on all the four days. He invited all the stakeholders to visit the fair and derive the benefit.
