Quality Yarns, Global Reach
Sharmanji Yarns traces its roots back to 1962 when Sh. Jatinder Kumar Jain embarked on a yarn trading venture in Ludhiana. In 2002, the company took a bold step by establishing its first manufacturing unit. By 2008, a unit with 12,000 spindles was up and running, producing polyester-cotton (PC) yarn. Within a year, they expanded to 13,000 spindles, catering to the growing demand. The subsequent years witnessed further expansions, including a 100% cotton yarn unit with 37,000 spindles in 2013 and another unit with 27,000 spindles in 2016. Today, Sharmanji boasts an impressive 2,22,000 spindles, producing both PC and pure cotton yarns.
The Sharmanji Difference, Quality and Innovation:
What sets Sharmanji Yarns apart? Their success is based on two key factors: quality and adaptability. People asked for their yarns because of their exceptional quality. As demand surged, Sharmanji invested in cutting-edge machinery, ensuring they stayed ahead of the curve. Their belief in the potential of PC yarn led to strategic expansions in this segment. Today, they continue to explore new avenues, planning further expansion in PC yarn production.
Sharmanji Yarns primarily uses the best Indian cotton sourced from Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Rajasthan. Their product range spans counts from 10 to 40, including various blends. Notably, they’ve introduced a sterling quality of yarn, which offers mineral hairiness, better evenness, and luster. But the company’s commitment extends beyond quality—it’s about sustainability too. Their ongoing installation of an impressive 11 MW solar unit aims to tackle high power costs and promote green energy.
“By harnessing solar energy, we aim to reduce our environmental footprint while ensuring uninterrupted production”- Vaibhav Jain, Director, Sharmanji Yarns.
Running a mill at 100% capacity isn’t without hurdles. Sharmanji faces the twin challenges of soaring power costs and labor availability. Yet, their unwavering dedication ensures the plant runs seamlessly. Their success lies in overcoming these obstacles while maintaining top-notch quality.
The Machinery Behind the Magic
Sharmanji Yarns owes part of its success to its machinery partners. For over a decade, they have actively utilized Trützschler machinery. Recently, they adopted the marvel of engineering products from Trützschler- the TC15 Card along with Trützschler’s blow room. The machinery’s consistent performance, low maintenance cost, and energy-saving features convinced them to buy Trützschler machinery. Trützschler’s Indian subsidiary was established in 1977 in Ahmedabad, India. In the initial years from 1981 to 1992, company activity was mainly concentrated on supplying blow room machines. In 1992 cards were added to the production program and in 2002 draw frames. When challenges arise, prompt and effective after-sales support ensures uninterrupted mill operations.
