SEL Textiles expanding both spinning and weaving capacities

SEL Ltd. is a vertically integrated multi-product textile company manufacturing and exporting various knitted garments, terry towels, knitted & processed fabrics, etc. With production facilities at Ludhiana and Nawan Sheher in Punjab, Baddi in Himachal Pradesh and Sehore in Madhya Pradesh, the company is expanding its existing capacities in spinning/knitting.

SEL is setting up a new spinning project in Madhya Pradesh with a capacity of 571,200 spindles, of which 1,95,840 spindles have already been installed. The said spinning facility is the largest such one under one roof in India.

Further, the company proposes to set up an open-end spinning unit with a capacity of 2,040 rotors and knitted fabrics/cloth capacity of 72,000 TPA. It is also setting up a project with spinning capacity of 1,88,160 spindles, denim fabric manufacturing capacity of 40 million metres and around eight million pieces of denim garments per annum at Vill. Punjava-Lambi in Sri Muktsar Sahib district of Punjab.

In 2011-12, SEL achieved a turnover of Rs. 203834.24 lakhs as compared to Rs. 158321.55 lakhs in the previous year. Profit after tax stood at Rs. 7183.29 lakhs (Rs. 10039.14 lakhs).
