SCHOCH of Italy specialises in quality weaving reeds for textile looms. The company has been in the field since 1907 and operates
across all major global markets under the leadership of Mr. Matteo Schoch.
SCHOCH set up its new manufacturing facility in India, at Kolhapur, as a joint venture with Monti Tessitura, a leading shirting manufacturer. It offers the complete range of reeds for looms, including flat reeds for shuttle looms, shuttless looms, rapier looms, projectile reeds, water jet reeds, reeds for technical textiles, terry reeds, sizing reeds and warping reeds.
Mr. Bhushan P. Dhavate, Manager – Marketing, SCHOCH Reeds India Pvt. Ltd., says: “Apart from the range of reeds we offer, SCHOCH also offer aftersales services in terms of air flow checking and calibration, energy saving study. It also has collaboration with Lavo S.R.L. for ultrasonic reed cleaning machines. We provide complete solution for reeds and its maintenance”.
Globally, SCHOCH is an OEM supplier for ITEMA weaving looms. Its major business comes from the replacement market. The company has established very strong business in all major markets across India, says Mr. Dev Bamb, Plant Manager of the company. It supplies to all major textile companies, including Raymond, Vardhman, Donear, S.Kumars, Siyaram for all weaving machines including ITEMA, Picanol, Dornier, Toyoda and Tsudakoma.
Most of the new weaving machines normally come with reeds supplied by the machinery manufacturer. A better opportunity still remains in the aftermarket or the replacement market. “We have an advantage of manufacturing and supplying locally within the shortest possible time. We are also able to offer it at the most competitive pricing,” Mr. Dhavate adds.
The manufacturing process at the Kolhapur facility is the same as adopted in Italy. The company is currently importing 100 per cent of the raw material required for manufacturing.
Having established its business in India, SCHOCH is now looking at exporting its products to nearby markets like Bangladesh, Indonesia and Vietnam. The company has been able to deliver the same Italian quality in India.
SCHOCH also represents in India Lavo SRL Ultrasonic reed cleaning machines which are primarily used by big textile customers with 200-300 machines. These machines are very useful for maintenance of reeds and enhance their life.
SCHOCH India has a team of 25 people, including seven technical hands, to fully cater to customer requirements.
