Savio Macchine Tessili has for more than 100 years played a major role in the development of the Italian textile machinery industry. Founded in 1911 in Pordenone, north-east of Italy, by entrepreneur Marcello Savio as a workshop for production of textile components for the local industry, it is today the world leader in the yarn finishing machine sector. It is also the leading company of a group with very high technological know-how, aiming to represent excellence both in finishing and systems for yarn quality control: a global partner capable of providing state-of-the-art solutions, having already established unique skills through continuous research.
A constant engagement in R&D is necessary for Savio which aims at increasing the company presence in the international markets. Savio operates worldwide in the manufacturing and marketing of automatic winders, two-for-one twisters and rotor spinning frames, with factories in Italy, China, India and the Czech Republic. Its business is divided into automatic winders POLAR, two-for-one twisters SIRIUS and COSMOS, and rotor spinning frame FLEXIROTORS 3000.
Extremely popular all over the markets, the Savio Polar model has been developed recently to max 80 positions. It gathers all the innovative solutions for the high quality demand, for both yarn and package output with any downstream process. This automatic winder summarizes all the market expectations, thanks to the various innovations in terms of technology, quality output, simplified maintenance and energy saving.
All POLAR models (manual feeding, automatic feeding-free standing, automatic link) represent the utmost technology available: the previous success of the mechanical models has been followed by the last generation of the fully-controlled state-of-the-art electronic one.
The more sophisticated machine in the range is POLAR/I Direct Link System, the solution for linking the ring spinning frame to the winder. This machine introduces a new concept in automatic link winding, ergonomics and user-friendly sophistication.
In 2013, a new step forward was taken by adding to the Premium series to the Polar family. The Polar E/Premium version implemented the features of the traditional freestanding winder based on the winding unit and frame of the link version, thus improving its automation standards. In fact, the hopper, the peg feeding system, the end finder stations and the back-up stations transform the original “manual doffed” bobbin into a similar bobbin used in the link system.
Now the Polar family is placed along with the drum winding technology as also the drumless technology MULTICONE: in this way, all customer expectations in terms of flexibility and productivity are met.
Packages for warping, weft, knitting, dyeing and twisting require a different package formation in terms of geometry, shape and density, which is possible only if the yarn is wound with a different and flexible layering system. A digital yarn layering technology (drumless) is needed to prepare all formats. Today Polar “Multicone” represents the proper solution to achieve this flexibility.
Indian operations
India for Savio is still ranked as the second biggest textile machinery market in the world. Savio Macchine Tessili is present on the Indian market since 1991. Today Savio India Ltd. is a textile machinery manufacturer as well as distributor of Savio products.
“To be close to the customers” represents the priority target of Savio Macchine Tessili. Considering the textile market dimensions, locations and their consolidation in the last years, that target can be reached in full only when a company establishes its own plant in that country.
The vision of Savio Macchine Tessili is to become a multi-domestic company with different local manufacturing and assembling plants. With manufacturing facilities in Italy, China, India and the Czech Republic, Savio has thus exported its corporate identity from Italy to Europe and Asia, making itself the binding agent among the various units, independently from their geographical location.
Savio India’s plant in Coimbatore was set up with the idea of providing world-class Savio products specific to the Indian textile market. In 2008, the plant started manufacturing two-for-one twisters with Italian technology, for local and export markets.
With its corporate office located in Coimbatore it has sales offices in Ludhiana and Ahmedabad. The company is presently serving the whole of India, Nepal and Sri Lanka. The Coimbatore showroom displays a wide variety of machines made by Savio India and imported by Savio Italy.
With a team of 80 experienced and competent service engineers, Savio India is well equipped to address all the service needs of customers in the shortest possible time. Technical assistance, rapid detection of problems, trouble-shooting and improving performances are the leading features of aftersales service. An electronic lab, with a team of skilled engineers and sophisticated simulators, is also operative in Coimbatore.
Textile testing laboratory with other latest equipment are also a part of the services offered to customers. Their needs in terms of testing the yarn quality, yarn strength and other physical parameters are addressed on time by a team of qualified technicians. A large spare parts store with both bonded and non-bonded warehousing facilities is also available. EOU/EPCG customers can get concessions in customs duty on the imported spareparts against requisite customs documents.
Savio India has always considered training of customers’ technicians as a very important aspect of business. Periodical training classes are conducted both at Coimbatore and Ludhiana offices.
