Saurer Schlafhorst and Zinser – Innovation hotspots in Milan

The curtain goes up on ITMA 2015 in Milan. One innovation hotspot visitors shouldn’t miss is the show booth of Saurer Schlafhorst and Zinser. Under the slogan “Setting new standards” the German textile machinery manufacturers present innovations that raise the bar.

The new Autocoro 9 is here!

Schlafhorst opens the show with a flourish, unveiling the new Autocoro 9. With even more intelligence in each individual spinning position, the successor to the legendary Autocoro 8 sets new standards for energy saving yarn manufacturing, productivity, economic efficiency, ease of operation and quality.

Energy consumption reduced by 25 %, 19 % lower spinning costs, proven rotor speeds of 180,000 rpm, take-up speeds of 300 m/min and 60 % less servicing outlay mean that the new Autocoro 9 surpasses its predecessor in all disciplines.

Innovative FX technologies that are already a byword in ring spinning and winding are now increasing value creation in the Autocoro spinning mill too, with DigiWinding FX and DigiPiecing FX providing new benchmarks for winding and piecing.

BD 6 – defining a new class

The semi-automatic BD 6 is in a class of its own. Schlafhorst presents a new, more powerful version of this at the fair. It consumes 10 % less energy and spins reliably at up to 230 m/min in any length.

The BD 6 produces packages in Autocoro quality across the entire range of yarn counts and with package sizes of up to 320 mm in diameter. High piecing reliability is ensured by the digital technologies MasterPiecing and DigiPiecing.

World premiere for the ZinserSpeed 5A

Zinser celebrates the world premiere of the new ZinserSpeed 5A at ITMA 2015. The new speed frame slashes operating costs, with its energy-saving mode for suction and flyer table blowing reducing overall energy consumption by 20 %. In 220 gauge the ZinserSpeed 5A is also up to 17 % shorter than its predecessor.

Productivity has increased enormously, the new automatic doffer achieves a doffing time of less than two minutes.

Zinser 72: a new level of efficiency in the commodity business

In Milan, Zinser presents its new Zinser 72 ring spinning machine series to a European audience for the first time. With a length of 2,016 spindles, the Zinser 72 has broken the 2,000 barrier and is setting new standards for economy in the commodity yarn sector. The machine is super-long, super-economical and extremely user-friendly.

The energy savings by the suction system are sensational, the new two-end TwinSuction system saves two-thirds of the energy consumption in combination with the sensor-controlled OptiSuction yarn break suction system.

Thanks to its reduced length, the Zinser 72 lowers production costs by up to 11 %. It also occupies up to 21 % less floor space. The machine is therefore the most economical ring spinning and compact spinning technology in the world.

The ZinserImpact 72 compact spinning machine is on display at the show, equipped with the selfcleaning Impact FX unit. Its self-cleaning system guarantees the desired yarn quality continuously with maximum efficiency.

If it’s wool, then it’s Zinser

The third Zinser product exhibited is the Zinser 451 Impact FX compact spinning machine for wool. Here the self-cleaning compact technology developed by the industry market leader clearly demonstrates its superiority. The system is inured to wool grease, textile lubricants and finishing agents, guaranteeing superb, lasting quality.

Autoconer 6: lower energy consumption, higher productivity

The next highlight at the innovation hotspot is the new Autoconer 6. With unique innovations such as the new Eco-Drum-Drive system, Schlafhorst has cut the energy consumption of the Autoconer 6 by up to 20 % compared with its predecessor.

The increase in productivity is impressive – even the basic model of the automatic winder is 6 % more productive than the previous version. A further boost of up to 6 % is yielded by the new high-performance module Speedster FX along with the new SmartJet function.

Intelligent self-adjustment turns the Autoconer 6 into an automatic package winder that pushes the textile technological limits, winding at the most productive settings virtually without the need for operators.

The Autoconer package is the benchmark for quality and added value in downstream processing, both for commodity applications and high-end applications. With TensionControl, gate tensioner, a new yarn trap, modified waxing unit, LaunchControl and the SmartSplicer model family, the quality features have been designed with meticulous attention to detail.

The intelligent material flow system of the Autoconer 6 just got even better. A new standard has been created for the Autoconer 6, type RM machine too with its new circular magazine and the 9+1 bobbin feed concept.

Plant Control System – big data for greater efficiency

Data is the gold of the 21st century. This applies also to production data in spinning mills, which can be used to develop strategies for increasing efficiency. Spinning mills that have Schlafhorst’s Plant Control System (PCS) can see their production and quality data at a glance.

At ITMA in Milan, the company presents a new multilingual version of the software. The PCS now also offers an off-standard analysis with which weak points can instantly be identified. This makes it possible to optimise service intervals and avoid production stoppages and quality problems by prompt intervention.

Service revolution: SUN-PLAN

The market and technology leader has developed a new, innovative service concept for the Autocoro 8 and 9: SUN-PLAN – service at a fixed price.

Customers of Saurer Schlafhorst can calculate the expenditure on servicing for their Autocoro 8 and 9 rotor spinning machines accurately in advance with a SUN-PLAN service agreement. They thus err on the safe side even when the warranty expires.

E³ – triple added value

The new machines from Schlafhort and Zinser carry the E³ label denoting triple added value in the fields of energy, economics and ergonomics. The label is a guarantee of maximum customer benefit and signifies a quantifiable increase in the production and profitability of textile companies.
