Sangam India Ltd. (Sangam), part of the Sangam Group, the largest manufacturer of polyester viscose dyed yarn in Asia at a single location, is headquartered in Bhilwara, Rajasthan. It has diversified into spinning, weaving, processing, denim manufacturing and knitting. Promoted by the first generation entrepreneurs, Mr. R.P. Soni and Mr. S.N. Modani, Sangam at present has 1,62,720 spindles of polyester viscose dyed yarn and 31,200 spindles for cotton yarn at its Bhilwara plant which also has 257 weaving machines.
Sangam has shown tremendous growth in sales and profits in 2012-13 compared to the previous year. It registered a net profit of Rs. 51.30 crores during the year, which is 200 per cent higher than Rs. 17.08 crores achieved in the previous year. Sales have also moved up by 4.34 per cent at Rs. 1,478.84 crores (Rs. 1,417.22 crores), accounting for 25 per cent of the market share in the country.
With new investments in design, weaving and state-of-the-art finishing equipments, Sangam continues to be one of the most modern textile complexes in India. With a marketing network of 200 plus dealers and thousands of retailers, the company exports to more than 28 countries and caters to Indian companies like Raymonds, Reid&Taylor, Grasim, Donear, Siyaram, S.Kumar, RSWM, BSL and Shri Dinesh Mills in India and to overseas Oguz, EPDA (USA), Baekart, Bossa and Melmar.
The Sangam Group’s revenue from exports totalled Rs. 301 crores for the year, according to Mr. R.P. Soni, Chairman, Sangam India Ltd.
The Sangam Group has also diversified into infrastructure, power and steel.
