Salvadè is a name that would ring a bell as soon as the mention of continuous steaming machines is made. This Italian company’s product range covers tumbler dryers, air vibration dryers, polymerizing machines, felt calender, backing and coupling machines, as well as continuous fabric washing lines.
Speaking exclusively to The Textile Magazine, Mr. Marco Salvadè, Vice President of the company, expressed happiness at Salvadè’s products are doing well in the Indian market. “Our company, over 50 years old, is headquartered in Como, Italy. When it comes to steamers, you can consider us the leader in the market,” he said giving a brief introduction of the company.
Salvadé S.r.l., closely associated with textile machine construction, has achieved significant milestones abroad, accounting for 70% of its turnover on the international market. Passion for work, attention to details and inventiveness at the service of customer satisfaction have ensured its success.
Salvadè is lining up a tumbler dryer featuring a new technology for ITMA 2019. Going into details about it, Mr. Salvadè said: “This is not exactly a new machine. It has been operating in Italy since February 2018. We had patented it in September 2018. We will be showcasing the system at the forthcoming ITMA 2019 show.”
Highlighting some of the advantages of the system, he said: “It is an absolutely new technology. It is practically a combination of three machines together. People always talk about ensuring ‘zero shrinkage’. It is something that is not possible. However, you can get as close to zero as possible. This machine ensures that. It is a wet processor, wet drier and tumbler drier put together.”
“With the result, you get savings in terms of cost, energy and the number of people required to run the process,” he added.
Referring to the Indian market, Mr. Salvadè disclosed that although it is a huge market, it is a difficult one too at the same time. “I have been to India regularly since 1997. It is a market that is continuously evolving. Globally too, the market is in continuous movement. Remember, all the tubular knitting jobs which used to be based in Italy earlier had moved to Turkey. After that from Turkey they found their way into Tirupur and now it is the turn of Bangladesh. So, the situation is fluid and keeps changing with time.”
Asked how important is the Bangladesh market for Salvadè, he said: “There is no doubt that it is a market that is growing strongly. It is a market where we have sold a lot of steaming machines. We are quite positive about the results that we have got in the market. As is the case with India, we have to study and adapt to the market demands in Bangladesh, which I am sure we will do.”
In India the company works with two agents, namely, the Mumbai-based Kailash Textech Solution and Sainit Exports.
Aftersales service support is another strong area of the company. This was clear when Mr. Salvadè said: “It goes without saying that if you don’t do it properly, you will not survive long in the market. We do it through our agents in India. Thanks to Internet-based technology, we also offer remote support too. Not only in India, we are well known for our strong focus on aftersales service support wherever we operate. The number of repeat orders received is a testimony to this.”
