It is a special system for bobbin pick-up from virtually any kind of winder, and transfer to overhead or ground transport vehicles for subsequent automated handling. The Doffer is the mainstay and symbol of Salmoiraghi automation systems for continuous yarn plants.
Salmoiraghi developed and deployed the first successful fully automatic Doffers in the 1970s. Since then, many hundreds of these reliable machines were manufactured and installed worldwide. Indeed, many Salmoiraghi Doffers have been in continuous service for over 20 years.
The soundness of the original machine concept is proven by the fact that it is maintained to this day, albeit incorporating the latest generation components and improvements.
