At an event at the National Museum of Science and Technology Leonardo da Vinci in Milan, sponsored by the Italy-China foundation, Salmoiraghi SpA received the prestigious China Awards 2018 in the Creators of Value category. This is an annual award for the best Italian companies that have seized the opportunities available in the Chinese market.
The Creators of Value category rewards manufacturing companies that have achieved the best performance with China operating in sectors with high export intensity.
Established in 1963, Salmoiraghi Automatic Handling Spa – Monza – designs, manufactures and installs a wide range of integrated systems and special equipment for automatic handling, transport and warehousing of industrial products.
The key application fields are factory in-house transport systems for raw materials, components and finished products, bulk (end-of-line) packing systems, autowarehouses, and logistic distribution centers.
The ongoing research and development of innovative solutions allows the company to continuously augment the acquired engineering experience and integrate it with in-house developed core technology – machinery, devices and control software.
The company operates mainly in the synthetic fiber industry where China is currently the world leader by automating the entire fiber bobbin handling process, all the way from the spinning machinery to the storage of finished product pallets, always using the most advanced material handling technology. Since 2012 it has installed over 20 complete automated handling systems for the principal continuous filament manufacturers, already implementing the “Industry 4.0” Smart Factory concept and technology.
Every day, over 1.500.000 yarn bobbins are processed in China by Salmoiraghi Automation Systems.
