RSWM has received the SRTEPC Bronze Trophy in recognition of its record exports during 2014-15 of exported synthetic textiles worth Rs. 584 crores. It has received the SRTEPC Gold Trophy for its exports during the year of man-made fibre spun yarn worth Rs. 408 crores and also the Silver Trophy for exports of man-made fibre yarn blended with natural fibre worth Rs. 138 crores.
Besides synthetic textiles, RSWM also exports cotton yarn and denim fabrics and its total exports during 2014-15 were worth Rs. 961 crores.
It is worth mentioning here that RSWM has its most impressive textile manufacturing infrastructure with 11 state-of-the-art manufacturing plants, 5,35,000 spindles, 176 looms, 1,50,000 MTA yarn capacity, and 36 MMA fabric capacity, including denim fabric.
At a glittering function held in Mumbai recently, the Union Textiles Minister, Mr. Santosh Kumar Gangwar, presented the Awards to Mr. M.L. Jhunjhunwala, RSWM President, and Mr. P.K. Dhanuka, Senior General Manager, Commercial. Mr. Riju Jhunjhunwala, Managing Director, was also present on the occasion, along with Ms. Sunaina Tomar, Joint Secretary, Textiles Ministry, and Dr. Kavita Gupta, Textile Commissioner.
“It is a matter of immense pride for the RSWM team that the Textiles Ministry has conferred the prestigious SRTEPC Export Awards on us, again year after year, which only reaffirms our commitment to maintain excellence in our pursuits to achieve one after another milestone. This has been possible thanks to the team efforts of the RSWM employees,” said Mr. M.L. Jhunjhunwala after receiving the Award.
