Rimtex’ X-axis rings changing spinning parameters

The Rimtex Group is well known among textile industry circles. With its highly successful sliver cans business it is also a top name in the field of rings and travellers. The group’s new generation X-axis rings are finding an increasing number of takers by the day.

Rimtex-Rings-Cones

Initially when the company had launched the X-axis rings and approached big, medium and small mills, it had mixed response, but generally many were reluctant to change or even attempt to try and check. The company received some positive and negative response. Many mills gave the company what are considered the most difficult range of rings for trial, i.e., 40, 42 and 45 mm dia rings.

While many ring manufacturers are known to avoid this particular segment, Rimtex accepted this challenge and has come out successful, surmounting all the hurdles. A combination of expertise, including applied engineering skills, metallurgy know-how, knowledge of yarn spinning technology, etc., has enabled the company to manufacture a wide range of specialized rings which give scope to spin a wider range of yarns, especially new generation yarn, at an economical cost.

According to the top management of the company, the spinning industry into two categories – ‘Conventional’ (big, medium or small) spinners, and ‘Enterprising Spinners’. While the former goes in for standardized rings, the latter prefers specialized rings for new generation spinning.

Rimtex-Traveller

In the case of conventional spinning for common cotton or man-made fibers, spinning with 36 and 38 mm dia rings on very high speed machines was being done with the objective being speed for quantity. Since most in the spinning industry was following this process the market became more and more competitive and mills were complaining of working with very low margins.

However, with the new generation enterprising spinners are trying out newer methods with specialized rings, which enable production of new generation yarns at a lower cost. This is a segment that is growing and is being increasingly catered to by the popular ‘The X-axis’ rings from the Rimtex Group.

Some of the new generation yarns spun on the X-axis specialized rings include:

  • Lycra – end use – Denim Jeans, Leggings, T-shirts, ladies tops, inner wear, Jersey, jacquard fabrics, etc.
  • Modal fibers – end use – Leggings, T-shirts, ladies tops, inner wear, dress materials, etc.
  • Bamboo fibers – Medical applications such as bed spreads, as also household items like curtains, shoes, socks, sportswear, etc.
