Revolutionizing Textile Processing: Will Motchar on Navis TubeTex’s Partnership with Fibroline

Mr. Will Motchar, President & CEO, Navis Tubetex

Navis TubeTex, a leader in textile finishing technology, is taking a bold step into the future with its partnership with Fibroline, a pioneer in dry powder impregnation technology. In an exclusive interview, Will Motchar, President & CEO of Navis TubeTex, shares insights on how this collaboration is set to redefine textile processing in North America. He discusses the motivation behind the partnership, the transformative potential of Fibroline’s sustainable technology, and how their newly established innovation lab will drive industry-wide advancements.

Q: Mr. Motchar, how did you come across Fibroline and what motivated Navis TubeTex to partner with Fibroline to bring this technology to North America?

A: We first met with Fibroline team at TechTextil in Miami, back in March 2023. This opportunity to bring Fibroline’s groundbreaking dry powder impregnation technology to North America was something we simply couldn’t pass up. This technology represents the future of textile processing – it’s more sustainable, more efficient, and opens up possibilities across multiple industries. What really excited us was how perfectly it aligned with our commitment to innovation and environmental responsibility. The ability to eliminate water usage in these applications is a game-changer for our industry.

Q: How will this new innovation lab benefit your customers?

A: The lab gives our customers direct access to this revolutionary technology right here in North Carolina. Instead of having to travel to Europe, companies can now work with us locally to develop and test new applications. Whether they’re in medical textiles, military applications, or technical yarns, they can collaborate with Navis TubeTex’s and Fibroline’s experts to create custom solutions. We’ve designed the lab to be a true innovation hub where ideas can quickly move from concept to reality.

Q: Could you explain why Fibroline’s dry powder technology is considered so revolutionary?

A: This technology and the knowledge at its origin are entirely unique! It is backed and protected by more than 50 patents worldwide. What makes this technology truly special is its ability to precisely impregnate dry powders into various substrates, such as textiles, nonwovens, foams, papers, etc, without using any water or solvents. Traditional methods often require significant amounts of water and chemicals, followed by energy-intensive drying processes. Fibroline’s technology eliminates all of that, making it not only more environmentally friendly but also more cost-effective and efficient. The applications are incredibly diverse – from adding antimicrobial properties to medical textiles, functionalizing filtration medias with MOFs, to incorporating specialized treatments for military gear.

Q: What excites you most about the future possibilities of this partnership?

A: I’m most excited about the potential for innovation. By combining Fibroline’s expertise in dry powder impregnation with our deep understanding of textile processing and the American market, we’re creating something truly unique. We’re not just offering a new technology – we’re opening doors to possibilities that weren’t feasible before. The enthusiasm we’ve already seen from potential partners across various industries has been remarkable. This lab represents the beginning of what I believe will be a transformative era in advanced textile manufacturing.

Q: How does this new facility fit into Navis TubeTex’s long-term strategy?

A: This investment perfectly aligns with Navis TubeTex’s and Fibroline’s vision of being at the forefront of textile technology innovation. We’ve always been committed to bringing the most advanced solutions to our customers, and this lab represents a significant step forward in that mission. It’s not just about having cutting-edge technology – it’s about creating a space where collaboration and innovation can thrive. We’re positioning ourselves and our partners to lead the next generation of textile development, particularly in sustainable and technical applications.
