For more than half a century ramisch has been the world’s leading manufacturer for textile calender technology. In direct technical co-operation with NIPCO license partner VPW (Voith Paper Walztechnik AG) in Zurich, Switzerland, ramischGuarneri recently developed a system of area controlled pressure setting across the width, individually adjusted to customers’ demands.
Since long ramischGuarneri has been a leader in both conventional and controlled deflection calenders for textile and technical textile fabric processing and finishing applications. It is now a widely acclaimed brand with hundreds of calendars being used globally for several applications in the textile industry. It offers various models of controlled deflection calenders like NIPCO I, NIPCO L, NIPCO FLEX and the new NIPCO HT for technical textiles.
In an exclusive interview to The Textile Magazine, Ettore Guarneri, Managing Director of ramischGuarneri, said: “ramischGuarneri is the only calender manufacturer in the world to offer the NIPCO technology for textile finishing and technical textiles industry.”
One of the main aspects of this technology is that the sides of the turning sleeve which are not covered by material are protected against any damage, like overheating or marking by woven selvedge. This width setting is controlled by the so-called retracting forces – which are well-known in the NIPCO technology – acting in 180° against the active pressure nip.
The latest development of NIPCO is called NIPCO HT, the newest technology solution for the technical textile market from ramischGuarneri launched recently. This new engineered calender design has been based on the extensive knowledge, development and co-operation with Voith Paper.
At ramischGuarneri they combine the innovation of zone-controlled pressure setting with experienced, sophisticated solutions around. Based on its experience as well as technical discussions with customers it follows that a modern calender system for finishing of technical textiles must be combined with a sophisticated heated steal bowl for precise and minimized reacting time of any surface temperature setting.
By means of this delivery, ramischGuarneri reconfirms once more its expertise in calender technology. Since 1952, ramisch is setting standards in textile calendering in the Indian market. More than 300 calenders were sold and installed over the years. In the last five years, ramischGuarneri was able to sell and install more than 25 new calenders based on the NIPCO technology with working width of between 2000 mm and 3600 mm for various Indian customers.
The calendar manufacturer, along with the Indian agent A.T.E., has been doing extremely well in India since last one year despite industry uncertainties. The company is one of the top suppliers for the new technical textile projects by Kusumgar and Arvind Advanced Material. It has also commissioned several machines at BRFL, Vardhman, Oswal, Auro Textiles, Zeus, KG Denim, Raymond UCO, Kusumgar, etc.
