With a strategic focus on setting up advanced weaving and fabric processing units, the company is poised to elevate its production capabilities and enhance product quality. The first phase of this project, featuring a weaving unit with 154 looms, is already operational, while further expansion of the weaving unit and the establishment of a new fabric processing unit are on track for commissioning in the current financial year.
Driving Excellence in Fabric Production
Rajapalayam Mills has garnered commendable recognition for the quality of its fabric both in domestic and international markets. The company’s fabric is in high demand from leading global brands, underpinning its confidence in achieving full machinery utilization shortly after the new expansion. Bolstering its electrical infrastructure, Rajapalayam Mills has commissioned a self-owned 110 KV / 11 KV substation within its premises, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable growth. A substantial investment of Rs. 400 Crores is allocated for these expansion projects.
The Fabric Unit currently operates with a capacity of 154 looms. The company’s order flow for specialized value-added fabric, particularly Jacquard Fabrics, has been promising. The entire Jacquard Loom capacity, including the newly commissioned 32 looms, is fully booked for the current year. In the previous financial year, the Fabric Unit produced an impressive 96 Lakhs Meters of Fabric.
The Fabric Unit’s financial performance has been exceptional, with revenue reaching Rs. 170.93 Crores in the fiscal year 2022-23, registering a growth of 39%. The export turnover for the same period was Rs. 64.45 Crores, showcasing a remarkable growth of 91%. Maintaining a consistent upward trajectory, the fabric division achieved an export growth rate of over 90% for two consecutive years.
Modernization
Rajapalayam Mills is actively modernizing its operations to enhance its value-added product offerings. Investments in TFO Machines, Gassing, Soft Package Winding Machines, and the addition of a third line of yarn mercerizing machinery are all part of this modernization drive. The company’s commitment to automation is reflected in measures such as a fully automatic contamination removal system and a 100% ring spindle monitoring system.
