Mr. R. Rajendran, Director – Finance, Lakshmi Machine Works Ltd. (LMW), was elected the new Chairman for 2015-16 of the Textile Machinery Manufacturers’ Association of India (TMMA) at its 55th annual general meeting held in Mumbai.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Prakash Bhagwati, past-Chairman of TMMA, highlighted the Association’s role in implementing various projects to attain world-class quality standards and for promoting innovation and R&D projects such as development of high tech shuttleless looms in India, the common facility centre for industry members for imparting product excellence and the skill upgradation initiative by the Association.
The Association members also participated in various international meets like the International Conference on Challenges facing Indian Cotton, seminar / workshop on TUFS and hire purchase / lease financing scheme for powerloom weavers. They also actively took part in several domestic shows to promote the textile industry.
Export Promotion and R&D Awards for 2014-15 were presented to the winners.
A large number of entrepreneurs and senior executives from the textile engineering industry participated in the function, many of whom spoke on their personal association with Mr. Prakash Bhagwati and his achievements as TMMA Chairperson.
