Pailung is a global leader in the knitting machinery industry, renowned for its advanced technology and innovative solutions. With decades of expertise, the company specializes in designing and manufacturing high-quality knitting machines that cater to diverse textile applications.
Pailung’s theme at this year’s TITAS is “Achieving Rapid Prototyping and Production Parameter Optimization,” highlighting its cutting-edge Smart Knitting Solution. This innovative system integrates four core components: KFMS (Knitting Fabric Management System), POMS (Pailung Online Monitoring System), MES (Manufacturing Execution System), and FDD (Fabric Defect Detector). Designed to tackle the challenges faced by traditional knitting factories, the solution enhances automation and boosts production efficiency.
PARTICIPATION AT TITAS 2024
“This is our second time participating in TITAS and this time we are presenting our Smart knitting and specifically highlighting our rapid prototyping solutions”, shared James C.C. Wang, Chairman and CEO of Pailung, during an exclusive interaction with The Textile Magazine. Pailung’s rapid prototyping solutions revolutionize the textile industry by enabling swift design iterations and reduced development timelines. Leveraging advanced knitting technologies and the Pailung Smart Knitting Solution, manufacturers can quickly transform concepts into tangible fabric samples. This approach not only accelerates time-to-market but also ensures precision and efficiency, empowering businesses to stay competitive in the ever-evolving textile landscape.
With three state-of-the-art machines displayed on the booth at the show, Mr Wang continued, “Our rapid prototyping process is designed to help customers optimize key parameters such as touch, feel, softness, and elasticity in their fabrics. We’ve not only displayed the machines here, we are also showcasing the fabrics produced using this technology. This approach allows our customers to better understand the benefits and outcomes of the process, making it more relatable and impactful for them.”
THOUGHTS ON THE INDIAN MARKET
Tirupur, widely recognized as India’s textile and knitting hub, has long been synonymous with cotton-based exports. However, a notable shift is taking place in the industry. While Western India has traditionally catered to the domestic market with a focus on synthetic textiles, these two forces—cotton-centric Tirupur and synthetic-driven Western India—are now converging. This synergy is driving Indian exporters to diversify beyond their traditional cotton products, embracing sophisticated synthetic textiles to meet evolving global demands and stay competitive in the market.
Mr Wang continued, “This is the reason we can see so many visitors here from India, coming to try and get the solution from this show, not only for knitting but also for dyeing and finishing. So by providing technical communication, I believe it will help the Indian textile Industry to grow and the Indian knitting industry will also grow, not only from natural fibre but also from synthetic fibre.”
TITAS: SHOWCASING TAIWAN’S STRENGTH TO THE WORLD
Highlighting the importance of a show like TITAS, Mr Wang shared, “TITAS has been taking place for more than a decade. Gradually, you can see TITAS has positioned itself as a solution provider for synthetic fabrics, especially what we call technical or functional textiles. To answer, why join us at TITAS? It is because, we supply the machines and we also supply the solution. So, a customer who visits can have a one stop shop, where they can get all their solution met in one roof!”
FOCUS ON SUSTAINABILITY
With a strong focus on sustainability, Pailung integrates eco-friendly practices into its technologies, helping manufacturers reduce waste, optimize energy use, and embrace greener production processes. Mr Wang highlighted, “This is one of our core strategies and our core mission. From a machinery point of view, it is important to understand how we are saving energy and cost. We focus on contributing more productivity from a single kilowatt of power consumption, in order to be more sustainable and get a better output.”
Highlighting the futerstic innovation of AlterKnit™ and its contribution to sustainability, Mr Wang states, “We like to show the world that when you’re doing any traditional form of printing such as Screen or Digital, it consumes a lot electricity, water and cost.” Pailung’s AlterKnit™ technology embodies a commitment to sustainability by transforming traditional knitting processes into eco-friendly solutions. AlterKnit™ optimizes material usage, significantly reducing fabric waste during production. Its advanced systems enhance energy efficiency, lowering the carbon footprint of manufacturing operations. Moreover, by enabling precise control over knitting parameters, AlterKnit™ minimizes resource consumption and supports the creation of high-quality, durable fabrics. This innovative approach helps manufacturers achieve their sustainability goals while maintaining exceptional production standards.
In an era where innovation and sustainability are no longer optional but essential, Pailung stands at the forefront, setting benchmarks for the global textile industry. By combining cutting-edge technology with eco-conscious practices, the company not only addresses current market demands but also anticipates the future needs of manufacturers and consumers alike.
Through platforms like TITAS, Pailung continues to showcase its unwavering commitment to empowering industries worldwide with smarter, greener, and more efficient solutions. As the textile world evolves, Pailung remains a trusted partner in shaping a more sustainable and innovative future.
