The trade show which received overwhelming response with 45 exhibitors participating and over 650 visitors attending it proved an ideal platform to the textile user industry of Madurai to interact with the manufacturers, dealers and traders of textile machines and accessories. The visitors got an opportunity to get information on the quality machines and accessories for spinning, weaving and wet processing. About 60 per cent of the exhibitors displayed products and catalogues dealing with the spinning industry, followed by 25 per cent from the weaving industry.

Almost 60 per cent of visitors were from the spinning industry, 20 per cent from weaving, 10 per cent from wet processing and 10 per cent from allied industries.

The ITAMMA member-exhibitors expressed their satisfaction through the feedback survey, with about 85-90 per cent putting their remarks as “excellent” for the show.

Financial assistance extended by members like Basant Wire Industries Pvt. Ltd. of Jaipur, Super Tex Industries of Mumbai, and Simta Machinery Pvt. Ltd. and Caretex Engineers, both of Coimbatore, helped ITAMMA to successfully organise the show.

Over the years, Madurai has grown as a leading hub for textile manufacturing. There are several mills in and around Madurai producing spindles and drums of winding machines. Keeping this mind, ITAMMA decided to conduct the show in Madurai, which also attracted visitors from neighbouring cities like Tirunelveli, Dindigul, Aruppukottai and Rajapalayam.

Coimbatore is the most important textile centre having 200 out of Tamil Nadu’s 439 mills and is known as the Manchester of South India. But mills in the State are of comparatively smaller size and give less production.

The other important textile centres in Tamil Nadu are Rajapalayam, Tirunelveli, Aruppukottai, Salem, Tuticorin, etc.
