Oerlikon Textile Components, one-stop solutions provider

Oerlikon Textile Components, the Business Unit of the Oerlikon Textile segment, plays an important role in the world market for textile premium components. With its product lines Accotex and Texparts, the company is the leader for innovative components in the staple fibre processing industry. About two-thirds of its sales today are realised with products that are less than five years old. At ITMA 2011 Oerlikon unveiled a variety of new products in essential areas of the market.

BU Leader Daniel Lippuner says: “Our keys to success are precision and quality, optimal and comprehensive advice as well as problem-free customer service with short delivery times. To achieve this, our premium components are produced by highly qualified staff on state-of-the-art production plants. This means maximum customer benefits.”

Combining forces around the world

At the beginning of 2007 the globally recognized brands such as Accotex, Daytex, Fibrevision, Heberlein, Temco and Texparts were merged with Oerlikon Textile Components. Each of these product lines enjoys the degree of efficiency, quality and knowhow of the corresponding textile application range. This was made possible by combining forces: The newly created global network with production, research and development as well as sales and service locations has enabled Oerlikon Textile Components to stabilise itself as a most preferred component supplier.

Thanks to these advantages, Daniel Lippuner seems confident of the company being well positioned: “In the fiercely contested textile components market, we are in a position to meet a wide variety of customer requirements with innovative solutions and optimal price-performance ratio from one source. The highest priority is given to quality and durability of the products.”

Strengths

There are good arguments for compliance with these claims, such as close co-operation with textile research institutes and textile manufacturers. Based on many years of practical experience, experts from Oerlikon Textile Components are familiar with customer requirements, have a broad understanding of textile processes and are therefore valuable partners in the world of textiles. This is also evident in the advancement of high-tech components that allows the company to respond quickly to market changes.

The support of customers with innovative and market-oriented solutions has top priority. Thus, qualified specialists are permanently engaged in researching into new possibilities for optimising the textile process for the benefit of the company customers. As regards improvements and product development, the focus is on central market trends: simple handling, increased efficiency due to reduced energy consumption, modular structure of individual assemblies. This is apparent in the technologically leading solutions of the company’s individual product lines.

Accotex and Texparts

To be able to provide comprehensive service to customers in the natural fibre or staple fibre sector, the Accotex and Texparts product lines have been merged. The product portfolio comprises textile bearings, cots and aprons, drafting systems, rings and ring rails and spindles.

The functions of Daytex, Heberlein and Temco have been merged to cover the filament market uniformly. The product range covers air jets, aspirating, cutting and splicing units, bearings, friction units and discs, texturing cots and aprons, and spindles.

To meet the growing customer demand for online monitoring solutions, the know-how in the field of monitoring systems for all textile filament processes has been combined in a “Competence Centre”. This step enables the unit to offer improved products and services.

Drafting competence

In drafting, the Texparts PK 2600 SE series was exhibited with a new support system. The PK SE series can be installed for the first time on all ring spinning machines available in the market; thus a significant barrier to market leadership has been removed.

In compact competence, the application advantages of the Texparts PK SE were shown together with all leading compact systems. A crucial basic element in the application of every compact system is having a partner you can rely on. In this case a pressure arm that takes up the compact system creates homogeneous drafting characteristics.

All components that come into contact with the fibre material during compacting influence the compacting result, especially the cots and aprons. Accotex Cots are today the unchallenged market leader in practical compacting technology, regardless of the compacting system.

Only those who have knowledge of the conditions and interactions in textile technology are truly qualified to manufacture the optimal components. In textile application competence, the broad application spectrum of the Texparts CS Spindle Family, together with Texparts Zero Underwinding, was displayed, while the new Accotex 78210 G KN knurled apron was presented for the first time.

Shrinkage competence

In shrinkage, the company’s Daytex shrinkage belt with the new Daytex curved edge, known for its durability and price-performance ratio, was on display. Once a textile finisher has experienced a Daytex shrinkage belt in production and received the value of service, he is sure to remain an esteemed customer of Oerlikon Textile Components.
