As part of major organisational changes, Mr. Updeep Singh has been appointed as Managing Director of Itema Weaving (India) Pvt. Ltd.
With decades of industry experience and deep expertise, Mr. Singh, a textile technocrat and a visionary, has served the textile industry in different capacities and was most recently the Chief Operating Officer of NSL Textiles Ltd. He was earlier associated with Welspun India, Vardhaman Textiles as well as a number of official textile committees.
Speaking about his new role, Mr. Singh said: “It’s a challenging position but we, as a team, are confident of our ability to achieve our ambitious targets. We will forge a solid reputation with the sincerity of purpose and the quality of our products.”

Itema will be targeting the mass market to significantly increase its presence in the Indian sub-continent in the nearest future. The top-level changes we have just made put us in a position to build on the existing strength of the Indian team and further strengthen it with a high-level executive like Mr. Singh creating a local organization that is dynamic, robust and excellently geared for success.”
Improving after-sales and service and brand building are some of his challenges, apart from achieving the targets.

With my experience as part of technology selection and decision-making teams in textile manufacturing companies like Vardhman, Welspun and NSL, I will be able to lead the team towards customers’ delight with the right product, after-sales service and support. My priority would be to build confidence amongst the existing and potential customers and drive Itema to a leadership position in weaving solutions in the Indian sub-continent in the days to come, backed by excellent support from the company’s European headquarters.”
