New CITI office-bearers

The Committee of the Confederation of Indian Textile Industry (CITI) has elected Mr. Prem Malik as its Chairman, Mr. Mukund Choudhary as Deputy Chairman and Mr. T. Rajkumar as Vice Chairman for 2013-14.

Mr. Prem Malik is currently running a management consultancy in textiles and is also engaged in textile exports. He has a work experience of over 48 years at the top management level with companies like Bombay Dyeing & Manufacturing Co. Ltd. and Mafatlal Industries Ltd.

He is on the main board of several major textile companies and is associated with various textile organizations. Currently the Chairman of the Bombay Textile Research Association (BTRA), Mumbai, he is also a past Chairman of the Cotton Textile Export Promotion Council (Texprocil) and a past Vice Chairman of SRTEPC.

Mr. Mukund Choudhary is the Managing Director of Spentex Industries Ltd. – CLC Group, which has a large spinning capacity of close to 2.5 lakh spindles. The group runs five spinning mills in India and one spinning mill in the Czech Republic. It has an annual turnover of about Rs. 1,500 crores and has over 5,000 employees.

He is a member of the Committee of Administration of Texprocil, a former President of the Northern India Textile Mills Association (NITMA) and a member of the Managing Committee as well as Chairman of the Task Force on Textiles of the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Mr. Rajkumar, an MBA from the PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore, is currently the Chairman of the Southern India Mills’ Association (SIMA) and the SIMA Cotton Development and Research Association (SIMA CDRA). He is also the Chairman of Sri Mahasakthi Mills Ltd., Sri Arumuga Enterprise Ltd., Foundation One Infrastructures Pvt. Ltd. and Pelican Insurance Brokers Pvt. Ltd.
