Introduced at Texfair 2022, Sleek Sort is compatible with any autoconer and has variants for crate model for manual doffing machines and trolley for automatic doffing machines
Coimbatore-based Nestling Technologies launched ‘Sleek Sort’, a machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI)-based cop sorting system during the recently held Texfair 2022 trade show. The company which has made a distinct name for itself in the field of cotton contamination clearers is known for its strong research and development focus and product innovations. In an exclusive chat at the company’s booth during the trade fair, Managing Director S Chandrasekaran said, “Sleek Sort is an entirely new concept. It is based on our company’s core philosophy of HEC i.e. creating a healthy customer experience.”
“It has been incorporated with the latest technologies such as ML and AI. These technologies ensure superior accuracy in the teaching of colours and trouble-free operation. Secondly, this cop sorter requires very little space. Where other similar machines require a minimum of 2.5-3 metres space, Sleek Sorter only requires about 1 metre and that too it can be fitted into an existing facility. Thus, it occupies less space while offering more functions. Additionally, this machine is 100% electric, so there is no use of any pneumatics. We are using servo motorised drives so that there is no need for air consumption. Since there is no pneumatics, it also means minimal maintenance. It is a ‘fit and forget’ solution,” he added.
Sleek Sort is compatible with any autoconer and has variants for crate model for manual doffing machines and trolley for automatic doffing machines. No special installation or civil work is required for the machine. Elaborating about the company’s performance, Chandrasekaran mentioned that Nestling Technologies had a good FY 2021-22 and hoped that the positive sentiments prevailing in the market would continue in the near future. “Overall, the year wasn’t bad at all. We got good booking for all our machines. Most companies in this industry can now claim to have good order books over the past year which will help for another six months or so,” he added.
“As regards the present market slump due to the cotton crisis, we hope things will pick up from November 2022. For us at Nestling Technologies, it is part of our culture that even when there is a slowdown in the market, we continue to use that lean time for research and development efforts and come out with either new products and innovations or upgrades of the existing products,” Chandrasekaran further stated. Speaking about the vision for the company in the near future, he said, “We believe in our core philosophy. We are not here to produce a lot of different products. Our focus is on the process, not the end product. And it is a process that we go through in a systematic manner. In the next three years we want to ensure that a maximum number of people get the healthy customer experience.”
