Naval’s significant presence at ITMA

Mr. Naval Tibrewala, Chairman

Naval, one the leading bobbin manufacturers in India, is all set to take its business to the next level by setting up a bobbin manufacturing facility in a South Asian country to cater to the global market.

The Naval Group of Industries was started in 1971 with a modest investment of Rs. 15 lakhs. Today, it has three manufacturing facilities in Ahmedabad, an office in Singapore and agents in all the continents.

Mr. Naval Tibrewala, Chairman, says the group will be setting up its fourth manufacturing facility and the first outside India, which is expected to be operational by 2012. Naval has now its operations across 42 nations worldwide.

Bobbins are manufactured using proprietary manufacturing technology, tested and proven for the last 30 years. The raw material, polycarbonate, is imported directly from Bayer AG of Germany under the trade mark agreement with it and other Japanese makers. The company supplies precision bobbins according to the customer needs.

At ITMA, Naval will be focusing more on promoting bobbins for value-added yarn for those customers with specific needs. The company will be displaying bobbins made of different combinations according to their application and use. Bobbins made specifically for polyester, industrial yarn, Lycra and, of course, for cotton yarns will be on display at its stall at ITMA. Another area of focus will be dyeing cones and dyeing tubes which will also be displayed at the stall.

Mr. Naval Tibrewala says: “We have ambitious plans of capturing significant business in South American countries and ITMA is a very good platform in achieving this”.

The company is also manufacturing low-cost high quality bobbins, which are on par with the Chinese pricing, to cater to the African and South American price sensitive markets.

Naval has technical collaboration with O&B of Japan to manufacture and market dye tube of their patented design. The company manufactures sliver can and spring under technical collaboration from Germany.

Naval’s product range includes Simplex bobbin, ring frame tube, doubling frame tube, cheese and open end tube and dyeing tubes and cone. The products are made to suit machines of almost all makes such as LMW, Rieter, Toyoda, Zinser, Suessen, Marzoli, Howa, etc. Naval is OEM supplier for major textile machine manufacturers in Asia and Europe.
